Judge Vaughn Walker has put same-sex marriage in California on hold until at least August 18 to give Proposition 8 proponents a chance to appeal.

So much for "liberation", it really means legal motions in perpetua.
Well, at least somebody wins: attorneys make millions on all this.

Had Walker been an Attorney, instead of a lawless shyster, the entire thing would have been thrown out of court and Olson and Boies sanctioned. I was clear, from the beginning, where Walker was going to take this. He should be removed from the bench and disbarred.

Keep dialing back--Walker was a Bush appointee and Olson a fellow Federalist Society/Am Spec. This whole operation is a scam. The Cheney Wing are thrilled of course--remember when the media called them conservatives?

You're living in the past, C Bowen. Pathetic.

But what is social 'progress' today, ds80?

Unending, costly, litigation. Gay marriage is now nothing but a political football and I want nothing to do with it. Gays don't win, we don't win.

Only attorneys win.

Regardlessof what side of the debate you are on one thing is certain,

The ballot Props aren't worth the paper they are written on and have made a mockery of democracy by pretending that someone's vote really counts.

And that is something that both Gays and Straights should really be concerned with because at the end of the day it means more than the current issue in play.

TIM IS DEAD ON WITH HIS COMMENT, GAYS MIGHT HAVE SWOONED WITH LASTWEEKS OVERTURN BUT AT WHAT POINT DOES THERE AGENDA GET OVERTURNED BY A JUDGE IN THE FUTURE IF SAY THE CALIFORNIA BALLOT HAD GONE THE OTHERWAY. SAD COMMENTARY ON US A A PEOPLE THAT WE HAVE ALLOWED THE FAIRNESS FOLKS TO RULE

What takes place in a relationship between two consenting adults, irrespective of their sexual persuasion, is no affair of the state. If they wish to marry, so be it. The very idea of voting on such a matter is both absurd and ridiculous. Equally absurd are the views of adherents to the various religions, who seem unaware that every culture invents its own gods.
