That Rostenkowski was a flawed politician and person can not be denied. Yet his machinations in passing tax reform in 1986 was the basis of 20 years of prosperity. And let us not forget Ronald Reagan, the man who spun deals with a Chicago Machine Democrat(Rosty), a labor Democrat (Dick Gephardt), and a yuppie liberal Democrat (Bill Bradley) to get that tax reform passed.
