War Needs Public Support

Our friend Jeff Perren has a terrific piece about how and why we need leaders to rally the public behind any war efforts we engage in, and how Barack Obama is failing at that job. Read it.

I hope the war strategy we support is not designed by Obama to fail. Scaling back the manpower for the surge in Afghanistan might be as example of such design.

Obama is not trying to rally the country behind the war. In order to keep the Democratic pacifist left happy, Obama is deliberately making it sound like we are going to pull out of Afghanistan soon.

That is a key point, one which I'm surprised that Republican politicians aren't pushing harder. Obama is deliberately weakening our war effort, and putting our troops at additional risk, just to help Democrats in November's election.

Why would I rally behind a Muslim in a war against Muslims? Think about what's really going on here.

Our permanent Secretary of State, Bill Kristol, has decided that the war will continue as long as he wishes. What the citizenry wants is not to be contemplated.
