So it
looks like Pres. Obama’s OMB director Peter Orszag is set to
fade from the limelight, tragically before we were able to find
out once and for all whether he
has a toupee. Orszag has reached the point in his tenure at
which budget chiefs tend to bow out, and he has a
wedding in September to plan for.
Although I won’t miss Orszag and his
estimated fiscal year 2010 $1.5 trillion deficits too often,
whenever I do I’ll think of him at his finest — dissembling
while being asked some pointed questions by Rep. Paul Ryan:
The debacle of this president’s administration is both a cause
and a symptom of the decline of American values. Unless Congress
impeaches him, that decline will go on unchecked. An eminent jurist
surveys the damage and assesses the chances for the recovery of our
culture.
The American Christmas, like the songs that celebrate it,
makes room for everybody under the rainbow. Is that why so
many people seem to be hostile to it?
