The concept is for the government and its lucky corporate boosters to rip us off with our consent or, if necessary, without it.

When the explosion first occurred it all seemed terribly convenient for some folks, coming just a few weeks after the announcement of expanded development of offshore drilling, and the possibility of sabotage could not be dismissed out of hand. Now we see that a little accident in the Gulf might have been perceived by BP as a great investment, and the chronology of events leading up to the explosion shows that some very unusual decisions were being made by BP's managers on the rig. Of course things don't usually go the way one plans, and now BP may not even be around to cash in on their strategy. But some very slimy people have been pushing the AGW fraud for a long time, this "accident" may very well be their response to the demolition of their case. Pulitzer's await the reporters with the stomach to follow the money and lay bare the facts.
