In Virginia’s 1st, 2nd and 5th districts, Rep. Rob Wittman, auto dealer Scott Rigell, and state Sen. Robert Hurt all beat Tea Party-backed candidates in the Republican primaries. In the 11th district, Oakton businessman Keith Fimian beat Fairfax Supervisor Pat Herrity. The GOP primary in Rep. Jim Moran’s (D) district, between Patrick Murray and Matthew Berry, is still too close to call.

That's bad news for the Democrats, who would like nothing more than to run against "tea party" candidates this fall.

Consider the activities of "tea party" politics in Maine, where the Republican party platform now condemns the secret plans of Obama to cede US sovereignty to an international government; and condemns what it calls the "increasing threat of interstellar colonization by a race of 'greys' whose advanced technological superiority threatens to reduce humanity to the condition of intergalactic slaves or hosts for strange science experiments...."

Is the Maine democratic party in favor of "interstellar colonization"? I understand their desire to "reduce humanity" to state servitude, but was unaware of their galactic policy.

Good thing the Maine GOP is on the case.

I guess "Tea Party" is becoming more a demographic than an ideological term. Here in Va2, our new GOP House nominee who (they're saying) "fended off" Tea Party "challengers," has the backing of some of the solidest Va. conservatives you'd ever want to meet.

Ominous indeed, if the Tea Party fades into oblivion one candidate will benefit...Willard Milton Romney. Without a boisterous Tea Party in opposition to him the nomination is his to lose.

Bob Hurt is a good (not great) conservative candidate. Tom Periello (D. 5th District) is a lying weasel who would strangle his grandmother to advance Obama-nation. Sounds like it's time for all good Republicans to join the circular firing squad and take out the (gasp!) imperfect Hurt.
