Bravo, Bravo!!
See what happens when conservatives get out and vote?! Finally we have a Republican Gov. in NJ.

They said Christie was a RINO. That he wasn't conservative enough. Well folks, I wanted Steve Lonagan to win. I did the much maligned thing when Lonagan didn't become the candidate and voted for Christie. I guess enough people did the same. Now we have a Republican admin. here in NJ.. the ONLY party that resembles anything at all having to do with conservatism. You can't work with the Democrats, ever!

Let's learn from this.

CHRISTIE FOR PRESIDENT!!! GET RID OF OBAMA AND HIS SOCIALIST UNION RUINATION OF THE USA.

The more I see of this guy, the more I really, really, like him. He understands the problem with the system, gets right to the heart of it, and does a great job stating his positions in language the people understand.

I am with Anne; this guy could be my President. He looks like the type of guy who would grab an Ahmadinejad by the lapels and slam him up against a wall so his point could be heard with more clarity.

As a former Marylander living on the Eastern Shore I met more than a few folks who had fled New Jersey. I hear some are contemplating returning If the Gov. can straighten things out.
Yes, I like the "cut of his jib" if you will and he could be a real player on the national scene. That said, I think that like Gov. Jindal in LA he's going to do whats right for his state before he does any thing else.

I love the Eastern Shore. It's like living in the midwest, but with cheap seafood and the ocean near by. I hope to retire there someday. Used to love attending the Delaware State Fair in lovely Harrington, DE. I raced a couple horses at the fair their once, many years ago. Good times.

25 years ago thiswould be standard GOP . But the GOP: has moved sofar to the left, and become so gutless, thelast 10 years that Christi and Palin make newsworthy items because they are so unique!
The GOP has been creamed the last 2 elections cdyclesbecause it has become the "new" liberal party. It is so liberal it seems like its leaders want to get shipped.
Americs is andalways has been a conservative nation. Christi and Palin win becausethey are conservative in fact - not "Read my lips...!" liberals who lie about being conservative.

Okay I'm not very educated on the law. Is it possible to dissolve a public employees labor union? Would the FEDS interfere?

Also this Christie is the type of sensible no non-sense MAN that we need to run this country. There are only 2-3 other men in the GOP worth damn. Get rid of the RINO men--or let them Crist themselves.

Why is it the only other pols in the GOP with any courage and sense are females? Bachman, Brewer, Palin

JohnD| 6.4.10 @ 3:09PM

Dissolve it, no; break it, yes. Here's how I would do it:

In April or May, I would send out people to every college campus in the region, and offer jobs to graduating Ed majors on the spot. Once I secured my skeleton, minimum work force, I would announce at the end of the school year in June that every union teacher was fired.

I would then offer to hire them back at non-union wages, with their replacements already under contract. I would use this as leverage. Most would think they could "hold out," and a small percentage would crack. The union bosses would squeal like stuck pigs, but they better not so much as spit on a local sidewalk (that goes for their family members too).

A speech, under similar circumstances, given by a democrat would have been indecipherable and hopelessly confusing. Christie speaks in a clear, understandable, commonsense manner that leaves nothing to the imagination. All those millions of $$ going into corrupt union coffers with little or no practical results to show. Those 700+ dollars, in the form of dues yearly to fund Rocco's and Lenny's vacation fund, I'm sure could be better spent by the teachers themselves...

This goes right to the heart of how education should be run in a democratic society.
