In a letter to Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-VT) and Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions, the top Republican on the committee, Charmaine Yoest of Americans United for Life writes:
We are deeply concerned that the Senate Judiciary Committee will have insufficient time to review Elena Kagan’s record before commencing her hearing on June 28, 2010. Therefore, we request that you provide whatever time is needed for members to thoroughly prepare for the hearing, even if it requires postponing the hearing date.
Yoest cites statements by the executive director of the Clinton Presidential Library that it will be “very difficult” to provide records of Kagan’s service in the Clinton administration by the planned starting date of Kagan’s confirmation hearing next month.
Paul Bedard of U.S. News & World Report notes that Americans United for Life “is fast becoming one of the leading foes of Kagan.”

The debacle of this president’s administration is both a cause and a symptom of the decline of American values. Unless Congress impeaches him, that decline will go on unchecked. An eminent jurist surveys the damage and assesses the chances for the recovery of our culture.
It won’t take long for conservatives to scratch this presidential wannabe off their 2008 scorecard.
The American Christmas, like the songs that celebrate it, makes room for everybody under the rainbow. Is that why so many people seem to be hostile to it?
Was the President done in by the economy, or by the politics of the economy?

According to a Wash Times editorial Kagan might believe that foreign law trumps the Constitution. We already know she doesn't believe in political free speech. This woman shouldn't even be a municipal judge!

If the Democrats knew, in 2005, that they were going to win control of Congress in 2006, do you think that they would have been shy about using any means necessary to derail Roberts and Alito (both nominated in the Fall of 2005)? There would have been a shark-fest of motions and filibusters -- anything to hold off until the Senate turned to Democrat control.
It would be unforgivable for Republicans to not throw roadblocks. It's only seven months until the Senate changes hands... versus a lifetime appointment of a statist.

After observing the disgusting ordeal of Judge Robert Bork, there's nothing I would put past the democrats. Power and control are their gods.

Miss Kagan is communist America in "stealth mode" courtesy of President Obama. Her appointment on the Supreme Court equals to the election of President Obama for life: rabid proabortion rights will nail the coffin of American Democracy for a long long time.
