He's joking about not knowing how to use the iPod, I can guarantee it.

I know that because he owns one, and they are designed to be so simple that anyone who picks it up can grasp how it works in thirty seconds. It's the easiest thing ever.

His speechwriter is just a little tone-deaf, is all.
