Obama to Nominate Elena Kagan

NBC is reporting that, to no one’s surprise, Barack Obama will announce tomorrow morning that he is nominating Solicitor General Elena Kagan to fill John Paul Stevens’s seat on the Supreme Court. (I predicted it, but I don’t claim any special insight — pretty much everyone saw this coming.) As Tom Goldstein of SCOTUSblog wrote when he predicted Kagan’s nomination in Februrary, “The last nominee about whose views we knew so little was David Souter.”

Nonetheless, there is much to pick over in her relatively thin record. More on that tomorrow, and later in the week.

He knows little about this nominee? Why does he write on the topic then?

Kagan has not exactly been hiding in a cave some where these past few -- Oh, I don't know -- decades.

Take a look at what conservatives who actually do know what they're talking about are saying about Kagan.

The only people who'll be complaining -- again, of those who bother to learn anything about these candidates -- are liberals. She's not the most conservative Obama considered, but she's Wood would have been much more to the liking of liberals.

Anyway, I know by this time tomorrow Beck will have proclaimed Kagan a communist and a fascist, and that'll be all the evidence you people need to condemn her.

"He knows little about this nominee? Why does he write on the topic then?" What article did you read? First of all, Mr. Tablin was merely reporting the news and not commenting on the event...and he wrote that "there is much to pick over in her relatively thin record" which means he actually knows much about this nominee, which I expect him to prove over the next few weeks. I don't know where you wandered in from, but this is the big leagues, kid, and you need a lot more seasoning in the minors before you should even think about commenting here. Happy Mother's Day.

Her "thin record"?

I'm not exactly sure what that means, but if that's the way they talk in the big leagues, who cares what they say in the big leagues. The woman has an amazingly distinguished career; she's respected by the top conservative and liberal jurists in the country, and I'd bet anything her confirmation is a breeze -- despite what your retarded talk show hosts say about her on the radio tomorrow.

"amazingly distinguished career"? She's never been a judge! She's like the guy who is nominating her - an academic theoretician with no practical experience in the real world, but apparently she supplied Harvard students with free morning coffee, so that should be enough to see her through. My prediction on her SCOTUS career: just another liberal hack that rounded out a troika of witches that would have made Shakespeake proud.

Nate,

Where have you been hiding?
Do you always run away from a debate when you are losing?

Or, did you finally realize how stupid it was to compare terrorist Nidal Malik Hasan's killing of 14 people, and wounding of 30 others, to a"workplace shooting?"

This is both an election strategy and an attempt to pack a lefty on the Supreme court for thirty-five years. Hideously ugly and lesbian, Kagan's nomination will stir up not only conservatives but liberals as well. Obama needs more Democrats to be excited about the mid-term elections and this is one way for him the spur on his side. The icing for Obama, whose parents hated America and who himself hates the historic American nation, is that Kagan will spend thirty-five years on the bench attacking the historic American nation. She will be the lynchpin of a left-wing bloc that probably be in the majority sometime in Obama's second term.

Another marxist leninist to help "change" America...get ready for more new age "change"?
Radical femminists..radical leftists..radical affirmative action minority appointees inhabiting every traditional American institution..
The American values that founded America, that made America different and the best place to live have been under attack for 40 years from the radical left, now they are in position to promote more radicals to power......where will it end?
The damage to America done by 40 years of leftist policys is irepairable in some cases. And more will follow.
