Twitter Trackbacks for Tyrrell on Hannity [spectator.org] on Topsy.com links to this page. Here’s an excerpt:

Hannity is steadfast. Sticking with an issue and not changing your mind when the wind blows in a different direction may be the very spirit of modern conservatism (but not necessarily historical conservatism). The guy who says, "I am pro-life and pro guns, but pro-choice and [etc, etc]" is a bigger fool than any steadfast rightwinger/conservative.
Aconservative does his business and gets off the pot, he doesn't sit there all day like a coprophilic.

I agree with you, Alan Brooks. :D
Individuals like Sean Hannity and Mark Levin who are consistent conservatives based on principle instead of some ill-minded "pragmatism" like Frum, Brooks, et al. are the mainstays of modern conservatism. God bless us that we have individuals such as these that are so articulate in their conservatism.

"Hannity is steadfast", yet he supported a total flip flopper named Willard Romney in the last election cycle. Support of Romney again in'12 will put a "lie" to his conservative steadfastness. Let us not forget Romneycare served as the blue print for Obamacare. Let's hear steadfast Hannity comment on this.

As a regular Hannity listener, I do not seem to recall him explicitly endorsing or supporting Romney. Like most well known conservative talkers, Hannity tends to support all republicans when they are going up against democrats. But he did not take sides during the primary.
I don't necessarily disagree with the idea that Romney is a flip flopper, particularly on abortion. In fact, he changed his mind twice. Therefore, he is not the preferred choice of conservatives such as me. This is a shame because Romney is very bright and accomplished. He is also a skilled politician who would have cleaned Obama's clock in the debates. Instead, we were left with McCain. Enough said there.
The question is whether or not you or I would support Romney if he wins the nomination in '12. Considering the alternative, I'm prepared to cast a vote for Peter Pan if he's the nominee.
Cris Worth| 5.8.10 @ 8:58PM
Not only Hannity but Limbaugh and Coulter also supported Romney in '08. If Romney is so bright and accomplished how on earth did McCain beat him? Romney's main campaign theme in '08 emphasized his social conservative credentials when in fact his words and deeds proved otherwise. How brilliant!

It's because the adults amongst us get it, Cris. We understand that in an imperfect world filled with all of us imperfect people, here is no perfect candidate. We understand that any Republican is better than any Democrat and that our country is at stake. It's because of the children amongst us who play the stupid game of "well, he/she isn't conservative enough, so I'm gonna cast my vote for Moe, Larry or Curly instead. So there!" And THAT'S why we get Obama and his despicable ilk.
McCain won partly because the stupid Democrats get to vote in our stupid primaries, and because Fred Thompson dropped out of the race. Fred was the choice of TRUE conservatives like me, and MOST conservatives I'd venture to say, in this country. When McCain became the nominee, we got behind him. With Sarah Palin as the V.P. that was good enough for me.
But it sure looks like you haven't learned anything yet. Along with the other Paul-bots, (I'm guessing here)~ you'll be complaining away from the fringes as usual and without your help we'll have Obama II. Then you can sit and throw stones for another election cycle about how because of US, we lost another one.

I think this is a great post. One thing that I find the most helpful is number five. Sometimes when I write, I just let the flow of the words and information come out so much that I loose the purpose. It’s only after editing when I realize what I’ve done. There’s defiantly a lot of great tips here I’m going to try to be more aware of.
I really like the fresh perpective you did on the issue. Really was not expecting that when I started off studying. Your concepts were easyreplica valentino handbags

to understand that I wondered why I never looked at it before. Glad to know that there’s an individual out there that definitely understands what he’s discussing. Great job
