Are we listening yet?

So about two weeks ago Sen. John Kerry, a lead author of the looming Kerry-Graham-Lieberman global warming/cap-and-trade legislation said about his bill, to disassociate from Earth Day loopiness: This is not an environment bill.

No kidding. No one on the planet claims it would change the climate in any way our most sophisticated instrumentation could discern. It’s about power. Hence the title of books like “Power Grab”.

Today we read in E&E Daily, from another co-sponsor Sen. Lindsey Graham: “It’s not a global warming bill to me. Because global warming as a reason to pass legislation doesn’t exist anymore. ”

Oddly, both remarkable statements have been ignored by the establishment press, slavish as they are to also seeing this agenda through to the end because, as Sen. Tim Wirth said in 1988 and Barack Obama in his 2010 State of the Union address, even if you don’t buy the excuse their agenda is still “the right thing to do.”

As I have been saying for some time and just published a book making the case: the issue is not the issue. The global warming then climate change then, uh, it’s jobs, that’s it, jobs, or maybe national security or…I dunno, what appeals to you? … agenda for promoting the energy-scarcity list of mandates, wealth transfers and lifestyle restrictions were just excuses for doing what these people have long insisted they , as your betters, be able to do to you.

Get this reality now, or wake up one day and wonder why you didn’t before it was too late.

Spain is a good example...wouldn't it be nice to be like them? We'll probably end up bailing them and their green jobs out soon.

Google the Chicago Carbon Exchange and read the money trail: Obama is right in the center and positioned to make millions if this legislation goes through!
Glenn Beck had a good piece on the radio last week. He, and you can do it too, investigated the money trail and turned up a few turncoats. People like Raines (convicted felon who never paid ANY restitution after conviction, AlGore (pronounced like E-Gor), all of the Goldman Sachs employees now in the White House, Goldman Sachs which owns AT LEAST 10% interest in the Chicago company... what does so called carbon credits sell???

I understand why the liberals want in on this cash-cow, but why is the idiot Lindsey Graham involved in this mess?

Kenneth E. MacAlister Jr.| 5.7.10 @ 2:02PM

Very simple Missy. Grahamnesty IS a liberal & needs to be kicked out of the U.S. Senate when his current term ends. Look for him to pull a Benedict Arlen just before he has to run to keep his Senate seat. He knows S.C.'s conservative voters are fed up with him & the desire of retaining his power will drive him to the Leftocrat Party just before his term ends. Watch for it.

Cap and Trade is a Machiavelian plot to impoverish and overpower the middle class and to bring the inept and unambitious up to their level as wards of the Government. It is a system that has been proven unable to compete with capitalism. It is the means for a small ruliing class to live in luxury and the rest of us as wards of their Government. America was founded with the desire to get away from this oppressive system. We would be complete idiots to allow this to happen and we must deny this President who goes around trying to bring the greatest country back down to the rest of the world.

Ever since I first saw "evidence" of global warming in my schoolbooks via the "greenhouse effect" principle, I had been very skeptical of the notion that such a thing had been happening.

My further education has shown me that my gut instinct(though poorly founded at the time) was pretty much right on the mark. When the State and its largest supporters have more to gain on legislation like this than the American people, I believe we have come to a very dire crossroads.

Theory and conjecture do not meet up to hard fact, and "man-made climate change," or "cap and trade" legislation will seek only to damage our industry and our competitiveness in a larger world economy.

No, I don't think we have to worry about CO2 as a pollutant because it is the substance on which our ecology relies to produce life. Without it, we'd be dead. There's not nearly enough CO2 in the atmosphere to be a concern to human health as it is, and government regulatory standards have to affect companies in harshly punitive ways in order to meet even the 17% reduction meter for 2020.

There are individuals who believe we should go back to emissions levels that were present in the 1800s... There would be no grocers, freight companies, heavy industry; We'd have to go back to a standard of living in which many more people would die from diseases/conditions like cholera, dysentery, and other ailments that are preempted by hygiene and access to nutrition.

That, obviously, is going too far; But the point is made. Reductions in quality of life for a passing fad/fancy that has made many Statists rich is unacceptable and immoral. The redistribution of wealth for the capital gains of the "elite" and the worsening of society and our economy cannot be allowed to pass.

This lunacy will continue until the people wake up and remember their high school physics. Green power is a fraud, a very expensive fraud. Those who promote it need to be punished.

axbuexdu I must correct you. If we did not have greenhouse gases (GHG) our sometimes inaquate sun could not prevent our Earth from becoming an ice ball as it has been twice in the distant past. Our nut case global warmers are 180 deg. from the truth when they condemn GHG as a danger for over heating the Earth. The truth is that in times of an inadequate sun (a sun without sun spots), GHG steps in as our security blanket and prevents what heat the Earth has received from our sun from radiating back into space. Another factor making us prone to glaciation is that our continents are in a breaking up mode from our third super continent (Pangea) for the past 150 million years. The reason is that a large contiguous land mass absorbs more of the suns heat than when it is broken up into continents and many islands as it is today. Remember the land mas of the Earth is only 30 %, the rest is ocean that is not as efficient at absorbing the sun's heat.

I suggest you consult the paper which I repeat here for your reference:

http://search.arxiv.org:8081/p.....Of+Physics

Conclusion: There is no greenhouse effect. The physics is pretty damning.

…Solar panels, the much-vaunted alternative energy (with wind) has a problem.  It takes 100 years to pay for itself. This is something the folks at Nellis AFB know already. The Kerry-Lieberman bill is not a global warming bill.  You can see for yourself here. The boondoggle that is carbon capture has a problem, all the cemeteries are full.  Uh oh, isn’t that something that might trigger the zombie apocalypse?  Quick,…
