Lt. Gov. Lee Fisher won the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate in Ohio, defeating Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner by 55 percent to 45 percent. The polls had showed him up 20 points, so this was not the most earthshattering result. He will face Republican former congressman and Bush administration official Rob Portman in the fall.
