The Spectacle Blog

News reports indicate that law-enforcement officials investigating Saturday’s attempted car-bombing in Time Square are now seeking a suspect with ties to Pakistan. Ah, but Monday morning — before this latest development in the investigation was reported — liberal blogger Susie Madrak wrote:

You know, I don’t want to jump to conclusions here, because that would make me too much like Matt Drudge. But if the car bomber was indeed a white guy in his 40s who didn’t know the difference between ammonium nitrate and plain old fertilizer, I’m thinking it’s gotta be a Beck Patriot who was trying to water the tree of liberty with… the blood of random Times Square tourists… .
Ah, maybe I’m wrong. Maybe it’s a Limbaugh listener.

Less than 12 hours later, with egg on her face, Madrak engages in some rather bizarre projection:

Oh darn, looks like the wingnut team scores! No, seriously, isn’t it just a little wacky that some people are more interested in who they get to blame than in the fact that someone tried to blow up Times Square?

No, Ms. Madrak, you were the one who was “more interested in … blame.” This reminds me very much of the Left’s rush to blame Glenn Beck in the Sparkman case in Kentucky. Neither Andrew Sullivan (“Southern populist terrorism”) nor Rick Ungar (“Send the Body to Glenn Beck”) has ever apologized for their misguided speculation in a case that ultimately proved to be a suicide, rather than a right-wing hate crime.

Isn't it about time the President notices that Tennessee is flooded?? It would be nice if he mentioned that, wouldn't it?

victor| 5.4.10 @ 12:18AM

What flooding?
That's just Al Gore's swimming pool(s) overflowing.

Dixie Pixie| 5.4.10 @ 12:11PM

Be kind Gentlemen

After sucking up all those Carbon Credits and auditioning for the Great Wall of Global Warming Protection Racket, he is naturally as wide as the Tennessee mountains.

He accidentally flooded Tennessee and Northern Alabama by jumping into the Tennessee river to save a baby turtle from the oil spill.
Al Gore never had a good sense of location, that is why he invented the GPS System.

Charles Martel| 5.4.10 @ 11:53AM

Floyd, he didn't carry Tennessee, so they're out of luck Obama-wise. If he hadn't won Florida, we wouldn't be hearing anything out of him about the oil spill either. (By the way, heck of a job, Barry.)

Thanks, Mr. McCain for being a sentry at the gates by not only remembering who say what, but not letting them forget they said it.
I heard all of the blather about the guy who took of a shirt in "Schubert Alley" that day.
Some alley! Just a walkway between 45th and 44th street. The guy looked down to make sure that he didn't drop anything that's all.
Mark Levin had Aaron Katersky, a reporter on WABC radio this evening, to talk about the new lead about the Pakistani guy that bought the SUV with 100 dollar bills and that the plates came from an auto parts shop in Stratford Ct.
Just as trained monkeys will dance for snacks, the Left Wing Media will dance to whatever tune the White House plays.
Witness the endless meanderings about the "Shirt Guy" on the video in the "Alley".
Shakespeare said it best; "Much Ado about Nothing".

The game never changes for the Leftist. Hate and blame, get it wrong, hate and blame again. Constantly project your sickness on to others. Over and over. No self-reflection, no shame, no change.

CLC| 5.4.10 @ 1:27PM

If the "amateur" had succeeded his identity and the VIN would perhaps not have been discovered for some time. But plenty of time to charge Rush and Beck for the act.

SM| 5.5.10 @ 8:12AM

That is because, I believe, the leadership and most of the party members are suffering from NPD. I would know, I have dealt with a family member having it. It causes them to blurt out lies or take a truth and twist it so incredibly, its hard to recognize it. And the DO have no shame, no self-reflection and no change. And when they are in the position of power, fear for yourself and those affected by them. They will use any ploy to get WHAT THEY WANT, no matter who it hurts in the process.

Marc Jeric| 5.4.10 @ 2:05AM

No wonder that our far-left marxists are unhappy that the would-be Times Square terrorist is a Pakistani jihadist and not one of us peaceful Tea Partiers. But they do know the marxist propaganda handbook, and they follow it to the letter - just like Abu Hussein al-Nairobi taught them.

Racist?| 5.4.10 @ 2:24AM

MSNBC said the police were looking for a white man. Now that has been scrubbed from their article. Turns out the guy is Pakistani. Isn't it rather racist of MSNBC to rush to pin the crime on one race when it's obvious there wasn't enough evidence to confirm that conclusion?

Warrior | 5.4.10 @ 10:28AM

The left wing and it's corrupt media wanted this so badly to be domestic terrorist. This would then justify all their fears of Tea Partiers and those dangerous returning military vets, etc. Then they would also be justified in blaming those right wing media types for enflaming the passions because there was a radio preset to the station Rush is on. Next, would be a news report that when police raided the suspects apartment, the television was set to the Fox News channel.

First of all. Who's Susie Madrak? Second of all, am I the only one who sees NERO in this Street Hustler In Chief? Kentucky Ice Storms. Tennessee Floods. The Oil Rig in the Gulf.
Is it because there aren't enough Black people involved? He's Golfing. He's on a Date. He's yucking it up with the other FREAKS at his little Press Corps Dinner. (the 'p' is silent)
I wonder if his whole little Party Girl schtick would be going on if this were DETROIT or HARLEM or WATTS? I don't believe that our Boy NERO would be fiddling, while Harlem burned. After all...He needs every NON WHITE VOTER he can get. At least, that's what he says.
Wake Up White People. HE'S PLAYING YOU!

MamaK | 5.5.10 @ 9:26AM

And he's not even "black". Gray, at best. He's the one who says his mom is white. He had a 50% chance of being associated with the white anglo-saxons, here in America. Phew - bet he's relieved he wouldn't get the speaking points if he chose to associate himself with the white side. Then he couldn't have his peeps claim that the right's dislike of him is racist. Goodness.

Eddie | 5.4.10 @ 7:52AM

If Al and Jesse realized that there were Blacks being affected by the Nashville flooding, they'd be on Obama's butt. But then again, not. I'm sure the flooding was something the Bush administration conspired to do just like the levees "being blown up" in New Orleans.

Times Square Bomber: Six Degrees To Tea Partiers | The Magic Negro links to this page. Here’s an excerpt:

…reporters on the Times Square bomber case to get the facts of terrorism in the name of Islam, but you would be wrong. They are scrambling right now in newsrooms all over the fascist progressive state-run press focused on one thing and one thing only, how to tie this to the Teat Party movement. They will use every liberal trick to do so. You watch, there will be stories on how this is really a domestic…

martin j smith| 5.4.10 @ 8:15AM

The point of this story is that you can call the terrorist "amateurish" all you want but actually they all are. Except for the leasdership of major groups.
Terrorist an be of any race, but someone who would do this would be either: A Jihadist of any race or an "artist" who thinks this is "art"--you get the picture.
Now here is my comment to those like BHO who blame America:
You who blame America invite attacks on our shores, If gd forbid any succeeed the blood of all those who die are on you, That to some degree include those who support and even voted for BHO. As the WSJ editorial noted ,we were Lucky this time. How long our luck will last ? Who knows. It appears we were saved first by a aware civilian--a street vendor then by an intellegent group of police officers.
So to those who blame America: Pray in any way you want that there is no successful large scale attack. For if there is the finger of guilt wilkl point to you. And by the way, in light of this latest episode, it already does.

Sometimes it's hard to tell which is worse - the lunatic left and their raging desire to find the "white domestic terrorist" or the neo con nuts who want to to over-react to every possible Islam threat. It was a Pakistani -then let's bomb Iran! So now we will close off Times Square to all civilian vehicles in a vain attempt to feel safe.

Osama and his gang of terrorists won't bring this country down and neither will Tim McVeigh types. This country will be brought down by internal enemies in the government and complacent Americans.

Interloper| 5.4.10 @ 9:02AM

Who is calling to bomb Iran over this incident?

Obama and his gang of terrorists will bring this country down--there, fixed it!

JRannapolis| 5.4.10 @ 12:07PM

"This country will be brought down by internal enemies in the government..."

I think that the current administration -- 95% of them have never had what most consider to be a "real job", few have served in the military, they all seem obsessed with "transforming the country" -- fits that description all too eerily well.

Who's hell-bent on bombing Iran...and define "neo con" for me.

Heatpacker| 5.4.10 @ 8:57AM

We are just lucky that the jihadists continue to attract low-IQ recruits to the cause of domestic terrorism. A crude bomb using gasoline and propane as the main explosive agents, if constructed by someone with a shred of intelligence and placed in the proper location, can be quite deadly.
This entire episode is a proverbial cluster foxtrot. The first suspect was some guy changing his shirt on the street. What? The media used that conjecture to make the bizarre, non-sequitur claim that the perp was possibly a right-wing anti-Obama freakazoid. The terrorist was a dunce and left a trail of bread crumbs behind him that led quite literally to his doorstep. How much longer will we continue to luck out?
BTW, I don't understand why a Packistani would try to blow up innocent people on a Manhattan sidewalk. I thought that, once the hated Bush was out of office, all of the the world's residents would stop hating us. Obama promised to achieve rapprochement with Muslim everywhere, and to make them understand that we intend them no harm. What gives?

Pete| 5.4.10 @ 9:47AM

Mind-boggling, isn't it? Perhaps the joyous news of Obama's coming to save the world has eluded this poor soul for over a year. That really is the only explanation. Remember, in liberal utopia, no one really wishes to harm anyone else.

Jobe| 5.4.10 @ 9:02AM

Damn that George Bush! He's still haunting those liberals. Imagine, hiring a Pakistani to blow up Times Square, and flooding Tennessee. When will he leave us in peace?

Chris R| 5.4.10 @ 12:40PM

They're actually trying to blame the oil spill on Cheney:

Bob Miller| 5.4.10 @ 9:21AM

Some of these media dweebs really want a combo:

An atrocity carried out that they can pin on one of their enemies instead of one of America's enemies.

Heatpacker| 5.4.10 @ 11:08AM

Bingo! That's because they are narcissists. The foreign enemies of the U.S. are imaginary. The domestic enemies of the left are REAL!

TennesseeVolunteer| 5.4.10 @ 9:36AM

Is this guy on a watch list after being in Pakistan for a prolonged period?

Sara| 5.4.10 @ 9:44AM

Our "news" media these days are a pitiful excuse for not only reporters; but for human beings.

Their race hate game inspires hate crimes against the ones they target (whites) as the race demons of society just as surely as the race hate games of the past targeting blacks resulted in inspiring hate crimes against them.

Leftist reporters and their polticians are responsible for all the black on white race attacks which are exploding across the country by screeching the lie over and over again that those who are against Obama's socialism/marxism are all white racists who are against the first black President because of his race. I think the Left's "diversity" race hate for power stragegy has killed and maimed enough citizens now.

Nick| 5.4.10 @ 10:02AM

Besides he is on his 10 minute Liberal Hate Break.

marti j smith| 5.4.10 @ 10:17AM

Mike: what exactly is a Tim McV type ? And who exactly is a neocon nut ? Lets have it a ll--spit it out Mike will you. In the meantime I will say i would rather have a government run by "neocon nuts" any day especially in comparison with any Liberal Left fool any day. Let me give a specific example: Iraq under Saddam H. The UN passed 17 plus or minus one resolutions regarding inspections and Saddam H ignored them. Mike what do YOU do. Ignore him ? or do something ?
This was no fly by nite decision. If you ignore him you to resolution numbers 18,19,20,21 etc like what is happendng with Iran. Or you decide to take action. Iran is a case in point where for years the EU made believe they were negoting as did GWB as is BHO. If try to negotioate even though it is obvious to us Neocons that is a mockery, then you collude with Iran and its "ok for them to have nukes for military purposes" Do you accept their threat against Israel --that is OK with you. If you agree with appeasement polices in light of all the experiences that6 show it does not work then YOU SCARE ME more than any neocon buddy. adios.

Sean| 5.4.10 @ 11:30AM

Who cares about the UN?

JRannapolis| 5.4.10 @ 12:16PM

When I was younger, I didn't understand the "UN out of the US" t-shirts and bumper stickers. It is amazing what those people saw back then that prompted their desire to reclaim the footprint of land in NYC and cease the astronomical funding that we provide to such a blatantly anti-American organization. And they've only "upped their game" over time.

Dixie Pixie| 5.4.10 @ 12:32PM

Did any one else notice Mayor Bloomberg and the rest on the NY Liberal Elite automatically assumed it was a aggravated right-wing white man. Can liberal bigotry be more obvious????

Question, which came first????
Did Liberal Hate / Bigotry create the Main Stream Media propaganda or did the MSM propaganda generate the Liberal Hate and Bigotry.

A hint to liberals, this is a chicken and egg problem.
