First they lose the family throne, then word
gets out that Patches was doing vodka shots after giving a
talk on his history of substance abuse, and finally — and most
ignominiously — the feds
have approved a permit for a giant wind farm that will,
horror of horrors, mar the ocean view at the Kennedy’s Hyannis
Port compound. How about this for a vituperative and
wounded quote:
Robert F. Kennedy Jr., an environmental lawyer and nephew of
the late senator, said the decision will cost Massachusetts
taxpayers “billions of dollars” over the next two decades.
…
“It will put out of business virtually every fisherman in the
South Cape,” Kennedy, who serves on the board of VantagePoint
Venture Partners, a clean-energy venture capital firm based in
San Bruno, California, said in an interview. “It’s a bad
decision from almost every angle.”
Oh no, not the fishermen! If there’s one thing to be said for
Kennedys, it’s that they’ve always looked out for the fishermen,
or something. Robert, your quote couldn’t sound pettier if you
had said that Ken Salazar has B.O. and doesn’t have friends
anyways.
This battle is
far from over. But it does the heart good to see the Kennedy
clan at least worrying that they might have to suffer even the
smallest of slights.

Oh Great now thousands of sea bird are gonna get killed by these windmills. Add that to the millions that are killed by the land based useless windmills. eco fascists pushing this stuff are gonna be the death of this planet yet.
SoCon| 4.29.10 @ 3:17PM
Not only are these useless windmills ugly contraptions that mar the countryside, they kill countless numbers of birds. This is wrong and it infuriates me. Why don't environmentalists care about these beautiful creatures?
Unfortunately, I've come to expect such stupidity from eco-Nazis, and my contempt for these morons grows every day. A pox on all their houses.
Dixie Pixie| 4.29.10 @ 11:26PM
With any luck the dead birds will feed the poor fishes.
Thus providing the fisherman with more fish.
Everyone wins except the birds and birdbrains.
SoCon| 4.30.10 @ 1:20AM
Yeah, but the birds don't deserve to lose; it's not their fault there are so many stupid eco-Nazi birdbrains.

Mr Lawler: Suffer a slight? You mean suffer poetic justice. Justice will become even more stern in a few years when those salt-air damned turbines start to mechanically fail and become obviously useless.
Becky| 4.29.10 @ 1:40PM
I do agree with RFK, jr. in that it is a bad decision from almost every angle. Windmills create more problems than they are purported to solve, as Mr. Kenndy quickly learned when having to confront one in their own yard.
Floyd Looney| 4.29.10 @ 2:13PM
They should have called in a SWAT team.
Tim| 4.29.10 @ 3:09PM
How long before a drunken kennedy rams one of them turbines in his yacht? Or Oldsmobile...
Alan Brooks| 4.29.10 @ 4:05PM
Ted always liked the water.
SoCon| 4.29.10 @ 4:55PM
Mary Jo didn't.
Lullaby's, Legends and Lies| 4.29.10 @ 6:17PM
This is the same Nantucket Sound, that Old Teddy loved so much, but was caught dumping oil from his yacht into, right? Hey what can you say, the family just love putting crap into the water up there, beach whales like Teddy, yacht oil, a 1967 Oldsmobile Delmont 88, Mary Jo, and a small plane too. But there's no room for a couple dozen wind turbines? Okay then!! Screw the Kennedy's!!
Mimi| 4.29.10 @ 7:09PM
Gee..... do you think the Dem's will just maybe, give up the idea of: PARTYover COUNTRY, and march up to see the "O" with a pink slip???? You gotta love those dem's maybe they are American after all. Just maybe most of them are getting sick of this " COMMIE " stuff, like the rest of us, maybe they hate the wasteful spending. Like the rest of us, maybe they'll WAKE-UP!!!!!

It seems RFK Jr. has a NIMBY problem. It is poetic justice indeed. If anyone must suffer these nutty eco-scams, let it be one of their most vociferous supporters.
skeeter| 4.30.10 @ 7:50AM
I was told the birds cannot reach the wind farm, there just out of range.also it will be a fish reef filled with fish life
Terry| 4.30.10 @ 9:07AM
Skeeter - You don't have a lot of knowledge about birds, do you?

You just have to appreciate the whiny liberal Robert Kennedy whining and moaning about the wind farm in Hyannis Port, but silent about wind farms in Louisiana that abut black folks neighborhoods.
If this monstrosity is good enough for the proletariat in America, it's good enough for the landed gentry, the Kennedy Cabal and their continuing criminal enterprise.

I don't think the Kennedys have that many "fans" these days. Perhaps these windmills will be a reminder.
