The Spectacle Blog

Unrestrained by the white straitjacket many of his constituents want imposed on him, the strident Rep. Alan Grayson (D-Fla.) invaded a meeting of local Republicans at a Perkins restaurant in his congressional district.

The freshman congressman berated the GOPers for daring to send "spies" to observe a meeting of Organizing for America, a controversial pressure group run by the Democratic National Committee.

Grayson can be seen in videos confronting Republicans. In one video he is asked if he feels he owes his constituents "an explanation for [his] recent votes?" He replies, "I don't owe them anything; they're trying to defeat me."

I asked Grayson's congressional office for a comment. Grayson attacked his constituents, denying he'd done anything wrong by allegedly storming into the meeting.

"That is completely not true and they are hypocrites for suggesting that," said Grayson. "These are the same people who did whatever they could to disrupt my health care town hall meetings, and shouted outside the meeting."

Grayson then hurled accusations at Republicans.

"I think it is very revealing. The Republican Party seems to be returning to its Nixonian roots.  Corruption, lying, and spying. I thought they moved beyond that after Watergate, but I was wrong."

Grayson still had some Barnie Frank on his breath.

Patriot| 4.9.10 @ 10:38PM

Thanks for the disgusting visual. I think I shall go hurl now.

Purpleguy| 4.10.10 @ 7:32PM

That's the moral majority crowd for ya ... got it on the brain ...

ZerObama| 4.11.10 @ 1:29AM

Hush up, Purple Balls; just remember, Barnie Fwank is one of you!

Eric Cartman| 4.11.10 @ 3:23PM

I'm Purplegump! I'm a regular Joe, Joe Six-Pack, Six-Pack Working Stiff, Stiff Neck Union Worker, Working For The Man, Man of the House, House Broken, Broke and in Debt! I watch The Ed Show and then suck on the screen when Olbermann comes on and then sniff Al Grayson's bicycle seat when he rides by! They stick up for us regular Joes! I was working at the pillow case plant (Inspector 12) making $25.57 an hour staring at rectangle cloth all day until The Man sent my job to Little Dix Village, West Indies so a 12 year old could do it for 33 cents an hour! I didn't want to move to any place called Little Dix, since I have a problem in that area (if ya know what I mean), so I had to go into therapy! How can I pay for therapy on 33 cents an hour! You can't! I need Obamacare! I need some personal time to reflect and admire people like Grayson and think about the small things!

That's right, I'm Purplegump! Fighting for the little guy (don't go there!) Obama and Grayson are my heros, cause they're
stickin it to the Man, the Man who sent my job to Little Dix! He'll tax the Man and get me my operation and I'll be able to visit my old job on Little Dix with my heads held high! Woooohoooo! I'm Purplegump and I'm gettin my implant!

I was born and raised in Central FL-I am a Floridian and this "transplant" from the planet "Nobrain", Alan Grayson, is an embarrassment to the good hard working people of Florida. We understand about balanced budgets and self-sufficiency. And Healthcare, well your premiums and your taxes are going to skyrocket, thanks to "good ole Alan" and the rest of the democratic machine. I am sorry for your job loss but Alan "ambulance chaser" Grayson could care less about you-it is all about him and getting his name out there so when he loses his seat in Congress on Nov. 2nd, 2010, all the people who want to sue to earn a living will run to his law office. That is if he is not run out of the state first.
All aboard the shuttle-time to load up for the Planet "Nobrain".

Greg| 4.9.10 @ 10:25PM

I want this guy to be president. Grayson is the real thing.

Patriot| 4.9.10 @ 10:37PM

Liberalism is a mental illness, and Grayson is proof.

Purpleguy| 4.10.10 @ 7:34PM

Conservatives have no conscience - obviously

Nick| 4.10.10 @ 8:44PM

Pay no attention to PurpleJackass folks.

He doesn't even know that Virginia governors don't run for re-election because they can only serve one term, then have to wait 4 years to run again.

He also likes to berate others for spelling "hypocrisy" wrong, and in the same post he wrote "hypocrit", like a moron.

He is not worthy of debate with grown-ups.

Sam| 4.10.10 @ 9:03PM

Look at the cute little conservatives, insulting Alan Grayson. You're attacks on Grayson have no legitimacy because you'd say the same thing about anyone who is the the center or something slightly left of center.

Truth to Power| 4.10.10 @ 9:15PM

There are Democrats who pretended to dwell around the center but that lie has been exposed. Now we wait for November. Grayson didn't even pretend. He is in goof ball country. The Democratic Party is not sustainable. It will kill everything it controls. We are headed towards Detroit if we don't get rid of these parasites.

Nobama| 4.11.10 @ 1:39AM

Sam has the same problem with the misuse of you're and your as other trolls on this site; could they be one and the same poorly educated troll??

DEMOCRATS=FASCIST-LIBERALS.
No reason to pretend any longer.

NeoKong| 4.9.10 @ 10:59PM

No need to say allegedly.
He definitely stormed that meeting.
The guy is a total creep.

Purpleguy| 4.10.10 @ 7:37PM

Your opinion is very unwanted.

ZerObama| 4.11.10 @ 1:41AM

Hush, Purple Balls; you're the turd in the punch bowl and you're ALWAYS unwanted.

JimE| 4.11.10 @ 5:44PM

purpletard, who are you to talk of opinions. Your opinion is whatever your controllers tell you it is.
Your only function is repeat mindless pre-approved jibberish.

Cthulhu2012| 4.9.10 @ 11:41PM

I'm ashamed to live in Grayson's district. I'm hoping enough of his constituents feel the same way come November-I'm certainly going to do all I can to throw his sorry butt out.

Diane| 4.10.10 @ 9:44AM

Who is his opponent so I can donate directly to that person???

Bobby| 4.10.10 @ 12:47PM

Nobody. Everyone who declares they are running against Grayson pack up their shit and walk away in weeks.

Grayson is the man for our time and place and some slack jawed backbencher from the disloyal opposition aint gunna change that. Thats why you losers have to use your biggest guns like dingbat Sarah Palin to attack him, and fail.

Lucinda| 4.10.10 @ 2:30PM

Grayson, is that you? Certifiable.

larry ross| 4.10.10 @ 5:46AM

When I hear the term "liberalism is a mental disorder" I think "michael savage", someone who has mental disorders himself. Grayson's seems to be having fun giving republicans what they deserve. I wish the president was more blunt and less compromising towards republicans. Grayson seems to understand these rats and treats them accordingly.

ZerObama| 4.10.10 @ 2:31PM

Larry, your rubber room is missing you.

denise| 4.10.10 @ 6:15AM

Grayson is a loose canon. He is an embarrassment to Florida. I hope he is defeated in Nov. and I will support his opponent.
There is plenty of blame to go around on both sides of the aisle in DC. The whole place needs some accountability and a good house cleaning. A number of these folks need to be retired.

TheMadKing| 4.10.10 @ 6:21AM

More blunt and less compromising toward Republicans, Larry? LOL! They've been spurned shut out of every process in Congres!. Are you kidding? That will change in November, as will Grayson's occupation.

Funny that you refer to Republicans in the same way Hitler and the Nazis referred to Jews: as rats. Yet more of the tolerant Left in action. Thanks for the public reminder :)

Cthulhu2012| 4.10.10 @ 10:40AM

Some people won't be happy unless everyone who disagrees with the Won (he won, didn't you know? he can do whatever he wants!) is lined up behind the Capitol building and shot. My guess is Larry's one of those who would gladly don the Dohbama stormtrooper outfit if asked.

As for Grayson's opponents, he has several. Pulled from wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U.....rida,_2010

Grayson is in the 8th district.

Richard Baker| 4.10.10 @ 7:38AM

Grayson is my Congressman here in Ocala, FL and the level of anger at this guy is amazing. Wonder what he has in mind for his next career? He seems surprised that anyone would dare disagree with him but that's the pathology of a Democrat, isn't it?

Mary| 4.10.10 @ 10:07AM

More material for that website Mycongressmanisnuts.com

Bobby| 4.10.10 @ 12:44PM

There's a reason why Grayson is so popular among Democrats and Republicans; he confronts the bullshit raging around the disloyal opposition.

Long live America. Long live Grayson.

ZerObama| 4.10.10 @ 2:34PM

Bobby and Alan sitting in a tree.....

More proof that liberalism is a mental illness.

Oldefarte| 4.10.10 @ 1:11PM

Grayson is a MORON, and anyone that voted for him should be ashamed and humiliated [but of course, they wouldn't be Democrats if they possessed any civility or dignity, now would they?]!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sam| 4.10.10 @ 9:08PM

Oldefarte,
What did I tell you about saying stupid things? Unless you live in a cave (which you might), you probably interact with Democrats on a daily basis- people who are just average folks and generally want the same thing you do. Politics rarely plays a role in our real interactions with other people.

Someone needs to set Oldefarte straight. Where is Margie and her Bible when we need her?
A quote about how people should love thy neighbor would be best right now, Margie.

Troll Watch| 4.10.10 @ 9:27PM

If he really cared about discourse he would encourage his political friends to stop making their references to male homosexual acts but instead he tries to give his political enemies advice on decorum. Just like Obama. It is a sign of phoniness and what you would expect from a troll. You reap what you sow is my bible quote for Sam.

Oldefarte| 4.11.10 @ 3:05PM

Obviously, Sam is a bit lacking in brain cells [".....Unless you live in a cave (which you might), you probably interact with Democrats on a daily basis- people who are just average folks and generally want the same thing you do. Politics rarely plays a role in our real interactions with other people..."], but of course, being DEMOCRAT-ORON, that goes without saying. "....want the same things as you do..." really, is that a fact? What like WELFARECARE that essentially steals healthcare for seniors that have PAID FOR same over their working lifetime; in order to give/PROVIDE WELFARE TO the indigent Democrat recipients of same now? Or maybe to steal their/seniors' hard earned income [and taxes paid] in order to fund UNSTIMULUS to state and local governments so that same will not have to lay off its employees on the PUBLIC dole [similar to what is now happening daily by PRIVATE employers having to lay off their employees and what is representative of the 10% unemployment rate]? GO STICK IT WHERE THE SUN DON'T SHINE, SAMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Purpleguy| 4.10.10 @ 9:38PM

Why? Because he gives the Republicans as good as they give to others? If you don't like his kind, then try being kind yourself ... being an asshole, creates an asshole. YOU right wingers made him ...

Puepleguy is Liberal Screeder| 4.11.10 @ 1:44AM

Purple Balls Guy--I know you're Liberal Screeder.

Chicken sh!t, just had to change your name again. Loser.

Purpleguy is Liberal Screeder| 4.11.10 @ 1:46AM

What I said above.

BD57| 4.10.10 @ 6:25PM

Hey ....

people who are bats**t crazy deserve representation too ....

Youngfarte| 4.10.10 @ 9:55PM

Assuming his district has a near normal distribution of sane versus insane, Grayson will be soundly defeated.

Oldefarte| 4.11.10 @ 3:09PM

Obviously it was of the LATTER catagory that provided the votes to elect THIS MORON in the first place!!!!!!!!!

cgpb| 4.11.10 @ 5:09PM

Grayson is living proof that you can take the deranged out of the nut house but you can't take the nuttyness out of the deranged.
His actions would probably qualify for a peace disturbance, had not he been vested with congressional immunity. His explosive anger mixed with the above... what more can you expect from your local Congressman? An Orlando Disney Looney tunes!!!!!!!!

Nick| 4.11.10 @ 5:38PM

It seems that Grayson doesn't like having cameras stuck in his face, huh?

I suggest that all of you, who happen to be his constituents, make it a point to CONSTATLY have a camera on him.

Grayson types are like nitroglycerin.
He will blow with only a minimum of prodding. Just make sure you get it on tape!

Nickle| 4.11.10 @ 9:20PM

There are Democrats who pretended to dwell around the center but that lie has been exposed. Now we wait for November. Grayson didn't even pretend. MBT mbt

SoCon| 4.11.10 @ 9:36PM

Nickle? Haha
This spam is really creeping me out!

Maryann| 4.12.10 @ 12:05PM

Gee, the title of the article isn't biased at all, is it?

LOL - I clicked on a link from my local paper and just knew from the title that this is a Conservative website.

In the mind of a conservative, here is their distinction of good and evil:

Conservative = good
Liberal = evil

No room for debate.

Nick| 4.12.10 @ 1:33PM

Maryann,

And liberals NEVER refer to conservatives as evil, do they?

acorlando| 4.12.10 @ 4:15PM

Grayson won big in a district that had been so heavily gerrymandered (teabaggers, look it up) by Do-Nothing Ric Keller. And now, a year later, the Repubs can't even find anyone willing to run against him.

NO TROLLS| 4.14.10 @ 5:00AM

ACORNlando--up your butt, you know you like it that way.

The shiznet| 5.17.10 @ 4:20PM

Grayson rocks! You old GOP farts need to get a life. The GOP is falling, TIMBER!!!!
