Great column by Pete Wehner. Barack Obama (exactly in line with his Alinskyite training, I might add) is (deliberately) being divisive. I believe his strategy is to try to divide and conquer. Whatever his motives, Wehner accurately describes the divisiveness. Well worth a read.

Obama had no choice. If they were president, Hillary Clinton or Joe Biden would have done the same thing. It's because the congress is hugely Democratic. With a nearly or totally filibuster-proof majority, Democratic voters expect results from their party.
Both parties demonize opposition presidents so much that it is hard to imagine any president and congress split the same way behaving differently. Any opposition would just filibuster whatever they could, and force the majority to take party lines votes. The majority would try to pass everything almost totally with its own, picking off just a few "moderate" opponents in order to avoid filibuster.

Sarah possesses a great big VETO pen. (Go to your room and get it right, congress)
Sarah knows when to solicit help, and can smell the guys who can truly help.
Sarah will ruin many days for jihadists.
Sarah will ruin many days for Putin and the Chinese.
Sarah will make the communists here howl.
Sarah will take on the "suffering servant" (Isaiah), role on behalf of her country.
Sarah would kick over-stuffed smart-arses in the crotch.
No, Quin, the only problem with Sarah is simply, will she chop 8 years of her life out to serve a stupid cowardly electorate.

Let me simply attempt to CUT TO THE CHASE [as the old saying goes] on this issue. Obama and these LIBERAL DEMOCRATS are not hated on a personal level or for their proposed desires to perform charitable acts of kindness toward those in need. IT IS SIMPLY ALL ABOUT THE MONEY, as Cuba Gooding might say. It is a question of who pays for these acts of kindness. Most people I know go out of their way to help others in need, but Obama and his Democrats want to pay for massive entitlements for the poor through the mechanism of GOVERNMENT, where taxpayers are FORCED THROUGH TAXIATION to fund same [and where increased governmental programs benefiting the poor need to be PAID FOR by means of INCREASED TAXIATION]. Voters-taxpayers are simply fed up with being forced to pay more taxes to fund these governmental giveaways. It's not that they hate Obama or Democrats [who initiate these governmental programs and needed taxes] on a personal level, but it's that they are tired of paying for same and seeing their income shrink accordingly from same. If Obama and liberal Democrats want to go out and perform charitable works for the poor [Jimmy Carter style], and not fund same through governmental tax increases, then conservatives, etc would join their efforts and contribute their money when doing so did not hurt themselves and their families financially. IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY-----END OF STORY!!!!

BHO has been playing the Democrat play book, only this time with the most excellent chorus of the MSM in the background. It is very clear to those who want to see that he uses: Class warfare,racial,religious,ethnic,gender and any other issues that describe the population.
Here is the problem; The Republican Party.
Why ? They behave as if they do no0 have a clue as to how to respond and gd forbid be assertive --oh no,no,no not that. There is no leadership and no plan. Reasons include: Its everyone does their own thing. If there is any hope it in the power of the Tea Party movement.
No let me as they say cut to the chase. If the Republican Party does not show sufficient guts in the 2010 and 2012 election to win big they they have to be replaced somehow and it could be thru the Tea Party Movement or--the republicans have to be cleansed to the RINOS some how--again with the help of Tea Party people.
I am hopeful people will make republicans winners despite their worst efforts. Yet I fear that these RINOS are real; "sell outs" and must be defeated for any success in the future --if there is a Republican Party in the future.

Actually there is one thing way beyond the Republican Party. It is the Obama the uniter. What I am hoping is that he unites enough disparat groups to vote AGAINST any
Democrat in sight.
