In another excellent job of reporting by Alex Pappas at The Daily Caller, the RNC self-proclaimed hip-hop, honest-Injun chairman, Michael Steele, plays the tired old race card against his critics. Apparently spending nearly $110 million in little over a year merits no criticism unless the chairman who spends that obscene amount of money happens to be of a darker hue. Poor Mr. Steele has he has less “margin for error” because he has darker pigmentation in his skin. This is nuts. It’s outrageous. He then says that the same holds true for Barack Obama — that his margin for error is less because he is black.

Well, no. If anything, both Steele and especially Obama are given far more leeway because they are black than they would otherwise get. Chris Matthews wouldn’t feel chill bumps on his leg if Obama were white. And Michael Steele is the one who always plays up his own race, because he knows it is an advantage to him. This is race-hustling by Steele, pure and simple. It is despicable. And it is one more reason why this spendthrift, self-indulgent, charlatan should not be chairman of the RNC, at least not by standards that would usually, objectively, adhere to the position.

There: I just criticized Michael Steele. And I dare him to call me a racist.

UPDATE: I also guarantee I could do a better job as chairman than Steele could. Better results, for a lower salary. Guaranteed. At a younger age, I did politics. It’s not rocket science.

I'm sitting here with another "emergency contribution reply" letter from my own pretty good Senator.....John Cornyn...sitting on the floor by my desk.
Once again, I must reply..." Senator, you guys are too stupid."
I will then ask the RNC to not waste postage on me any more.
I will contribute direct to the rep candidates and Senate candidates I respect.

See, John knows I could funnel a couple of million $$ to them. I won't!

We gotta' contribute..........SMART..........folks!

Kenneth E. MacAlister Jr.| 4.5.10 @ 3:12PM

Ken, you have my sympathy for having John "we gotta elect more RINOs, conservatives are unelectable!" Cornyn as a U.S. Senator. Cornyn is more dead weight who needs to get the boot along with the RINOs he feels the need to inflict on us through the NRSC. I'm from PA & if Benedict Arlen Spectacle was still a RINO instead of a Democrat, Cornyn would throw all of his & the NRSC's support to him instead of Pat Toomey. Vote Cornyn out for the sake of conservatism & America.

Mike Rogers| 4.5.10 @ 6:03PM

Agree with both of you - Cornyn is better than the average RINO in that he at least votes the right way most of the time, BUT he's committed two major Faux Pas in the past year:
First, he wrote for contributions to help "Take back the AIG Bonuses" - yes they were excessive, in some cases tasteless, but they were contractually obligated, in some cases the ONLY income the recipient got for the year, and any bill of attainder to snatch them back or tax them out of existence was clearly unconstitutional.
Of course, Cornyn was all for Crist, before he was against him :-/
Now, he's beginning to soft-pedal repeal of the healthcare disaster - I don't care if there are a few good bits - 2700 pages of micromanagement, manadates and taxes need to be thrown out, before any fixes can go in.
Conclusion, he's a sunshine conservative with no regard for the constitution.

JanevonMises| 4.5.10 @ 6:07PM

Ken,
John Cornyn is my senator, too. In fact, both of us have ties to San Antonio. But I wouldn't necessarily rate him as "pretty good". I am thinking he might have achieved his highest level of competency as a judge. Because he just can't let go of the concept that conservatism doesn't sell and that the way to success is through the middle. And I keep sending back those solicitation letters just like you do.

Maybe we need to think about a couple of new faces for Texas in 2012 and 2014. Anybody up for Michael Williams or Elizabeth Ames Jones?

BREWSTER'S MILLIONS

Tagline: An American excess story.
Plot: A minor league baseball player has to waste $30m in 30 days in order to inherit $300m; however he's not allowed to tell anyone about the $300m deal.

Steele stinks, is not a leader, & is doing more harm than good to the RNC. If this criticism is racist just call me Kenneth "Sheets" MacAlister. Steele must go asap!

Dear American Spectator,

I am owner of a site called Useful Info Nation at http://usefulinfonation.com and a blog at http://blog.usefulinfonation.com where I sometimes link to articles on your site.

I admire your contribution to conservative politics as I am conservative. I have a right and left side on my site and my readers can surely tell the difference in the logical way conservatives state their case as opposed to the sometimes tacky but mostly illogical way liberals or progressives do in the articles to which I link. On my blog, I do daily takes on all things news, left, and right.

Would it be possible for you to add a link to my site from your Blogroll section? I have already exchanged links with a few sites you have listed. If so, I greatly appreciate it. I look forward to reading your daily contributions and I will link directly to you.

Sincerely,

Thomas

Oldefarte| 4.5.10 @ 4:12PM

I'm beginning to [somewhat] agree with you, Quin, on Steele. This Vegas sex club thing should make Steele to ROLL HEADS of everyone involved in this mis-advanture. I'm not against PRIVATE participation in such things, but when RNC money is involved, it's time to CRACK SOME KNEES. I just like Steele's confrontational tactics concerning Democrats, and the fact that he can get away with it because of his race [they can't argue with him without being labeled as RACISTS]. Even Haley Barbour takes a backseat [PC] to Steele in the biting attacks of Democrats department. I still don't think firing/replacing Steele would be beneficial, but a serious mono-e-mono, closed-door, DISCUSSION with him over RNC money and issues would definately be warranted!!!!

JimE| 4.5.10 @ 8:45PM

Steele is a RINO who loves to watch himself on TV. Time for him to go. They should have gotten a real black conservative instead of this token hack.

BD57| 4.5.10 @ 9:03PM

While we will never know the answer, the question "Would Steele have been elected RNC chairman if he was white?" is an interesting question .....

Richard Baker| 4.5.10 @ 9:19PM

And remember, he claims that he didn't seek his office. He needs to go into the night and not return. What a cipher.

Quin, the first 500 names in the Boston phone book could do a better job than Steele. That Blackwell was turned down for the job is an abiding shame to the RNC.
