So much for getting a big boost out of the health care
bill.
Reports the Washington Post:
Shifts among core constituencies suggest that President Obama
and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (Calif.) may have reaped some
benefit from the legislation’s passage, but the public’s take
on the Democratic Party has not budged, and Senate Majority
Leader Harry M. Reid (Nev.) appears to be losing popularity.
None of the central players in passing health-care reform
appears to be winning favor with the bill’s opponents.
Poor Harry Reid. He’s not just treading water. He’s
going down in popularity. Couldn’t happen to a less worthy
public “servant.”

Dusty Reid will probably vote for his opponent when he gets into the booth in November!
Cris Worth| 3.29.10 @ 9:38AM
Let us hope Romney's presidential aspirations have been permanently damaged since RomneyCare is the blue print for this national health care debacle.
Stan Redmond| 3.29.10 @ 9:42AM
I predict Nancy will win her re-election bu lose her seat, and Reid will "gracefully" retire after helping us for so many years after a "historic" victory passing healthcare.
How I wish these cretins were forced to live under their own laws.

"Neither major party has seen much change in favorability ratings in the new poll. Half hold positive views of the Democratic Party, 40 percent of the Republicans and strongly unfavorable opinions outweigh strongly favorable ones for both parties. Independents are more favorably disposed to Democrats (46 percent say they have a positive take on Democrats; 39 percent on Republicans), though 22 percent hold unfavorable views of both parties."
In addition, Pelosi has higher ratings than Newt did. So, Bandow, taking things out of context again????? What a surprise......

Pay no attention to 3/5 Bob's comments, folks.
For those who don't know, he is known as 3/5 Bob, because until last June, he thought that blacks had 3/5 of a vote, under the original U.S. Constitution.
He also doesn't know the scientific fact of when human biological life begins because he is unsure of when "ensoulment" happens.
He also claimed he translated the Bible from the original Aramaic when he was a teenager.
He is a pseudo-intellectual and an anti-Christian bigot.
Don't waste your time arguing with him.
Nick| 3.29.10 @ 12:06PM
Ooops!
3/5 Bob gave us his real name! (In another thread.)
A quick google search found this entry at a classmate directory, along with his e-mail address:
"Robert Vollowitz Sparta NJ robert@vollowitz.net
After graduation I attended USC and obtained a degree in Mathematics. I then served in the Army and went to Vietnam. Upon my return, I attended Harvard Business School and received my MBA. I have four children from my first marriage. Three of them are married and have advanced degrees. I now live in NW New Jersey with my wife Stephanie. I am semi-retired having spent most of my career with a number of large corporations. My hobbies include cars, computers, and remodeling homes."
Tee-Hee!
This just made my day!

Nick| 3.29.10 @ 3:40PM
Tim,
I'm just providing DATA.
This makes me a stalker?
SoCon| 3.29.10 @ 5:20PM
How come Bob never mentioned his fourth kid?
I don't recall that thread--what a dope Bob is.
Nick| 3.29.10 @ 5:38PM
SoCon,
It was from this thread:

Tim, why so touchy?
We're just one big happy family, right?

Chris, Mr Romney is a fine honorable man, and an extremely bright CEO/Executive.
I would do business with his company in a heartbeat.
BUT,
We now need to start studying the younger fireballs who lean hard right toward "restorationist" to offset the lurch left we will have seen.
We are going to need a "blood sweat and tears" guy (Churchill), to climb into the "bully pulpit" and let us clean up the mess and move our country back to prosperity and strength.
Folks,
In one respect, the healthdeform act is but a symptom...an "illustration", of where the communists, (pardon the shorthand), want to take us. ie: to our knees....begging.
Right now, let's focus on getting that "unknown person" a solid conservative congress this year.
Cris Worth| 3.29.10 @ 11:02AM
Governor Romney is not opposed to the substance of ObamaCare only the legislative process. Also Romney complained he was not consulted by Obama in crafting out the national health care legislation..."No one came to talk to me," Romney said. "It's very clear that people thought they had the answer without getting the benefit of the experiment." Romney also declared the Massachusetts program "the ultimate conservative plan" because it requires individual responsibility. Give me a break this sounds like Neville Chamberlain’s "Peace in Our Time" sellout to his adversaries NOT Churchill's "fight them on the beaches". Do business with Romney? Sure...but I hope not White House business.
Janice| 3.29.10 @ 3:20PM
I'm with you, Cris; Romney's a RINO no better than McCain.
NO MORE RINOS!!
Chuck| 3.30.10 @ 5:53AM
It's important that all "true" conservatives keep a close eye on Willard Milton Romney. Trying to convince us he was a social conservative cracked the facade and the health care debacle has blown the facade off. No matter how much money Romney throws into the next campaign such as his recent phony ploy "Prescription for Repeal” stay vigilant and elect candidates with bona fide core conservative principals in the Reagan mode.
Mimi| 3.29.10 @ 12:22PM
"BLOOD,SWEAT and TEARS" (Churchill) get on the " BULLY PULPIT", clean up the mess etc. We need someone whe LOVE'S this country, knows the constitution thru and thru. COURAGEOUS enough to speak on truthful, conservative principals in a very loud compelling voice. STRONG enough of a leader and secure in his own self , to get others to help him turn this ship a 180 degrees around! We won't care for a slick handsome DUDE, or a slickster slithering to the top. What this country needs is a LION of LIBERTY,and yet with a touch of a loving LAMB> He 's here and we know him. I only hope he knows, DESTINY is calling!!!!!!!
Ken (Old Texican)| 3.29.10 @ 5:34PM
Thank you, Mimi.
OKOK, I will run.
(smile, not.) but I got my eye peeled for the emergence of good men and women.
Becky| 3.29.10 @ 11:16AM
I believe that Stupak made his race national. As one of his voters, I hope his integrity is beyond repair to serve another term. His sole reason for re election should be his willingness to bring home the pork. Stupak made the mistake of trying to serve two masters.
It would make sense that Pelosi and Obama would gain from their bases, for both have actually been known among them to be left. They were getting discouraged before last weekend.
I only have gut feeling based on most of the working people I know, that they are much more center or right thinking. I live in an area of MI where we had a republican executive, and I wondered how that happened. He told me most people are conservative and don't know they are not Democrats. It is a huge habit to break. Someone needs to invent patches or pills to help the destructive habit of voting for big spending politicians.
martin j smith| 3.29.10 @ 2:51PM
Bob 175% of Americans support the Health care system while 475% oppose it. Go figure.
