Acting like a Latin American caudillo President Obama continues to thumb his nose at Congress, daring Republican members of the House of Representatives to begin impeachment proceedings against him.

His latest outrage comes in the form of a recess appointment of extremist Craig Becker, who used to represent ACORN and SEIU, to the National Labor Relations Board. Becker was decisively rejected by the Senate when his nomination came up for a vote last month.

Becker is the fellow who lied to Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) at a confirmation hearing regarding the work he did for ACORN.

Becker also believes that all Americans should be forced to join unions whether they want to or not.

King Barry is just getting warmed up. This guy is begining to show what an angry, America hating MArxist that he is. Now that health care is passed be ready to get steam rolled by every leftist piese of legislation imaginable! We need and Article 5 Convention!

Oldefarte| 3.28.10 @ 2:52PM

THAT unfortionately would be too time-consuming. The simplist solution is the NOVEMBER 2010+ election, and for conservatives and American taxpayers to vote for any/all representatives that pledge allegiance to TRUE CHANGE!!!!

Oldefarte| 3.28.10 @ 2:48PM

This action by Obama is NOT surprising, but predictable. The astounding part is the bed-sharing attitude of congressional Republicans who should be attempting to bring articles of impeachment against him over his previous affiliation with Acorn [which effectively has received governmental funding (paid for with taxpayers' incomes) to finance Democrat/partisaned political activities for years],etc. These lackard Republicans in congress will pay the political price in November, along with their Democrat-bedmates, for their PRAGMATISM and BI-PARTISANSHIP!!!!!

Recess appointments are common - GW Bush, Clinton, and Reagan all used them. Becker wasn't rejected by the Senate - his nomination is being filibustered and it hasn't come up for a vote. Guys like Shelby keep putting holds on nominees for political reasons, even for non controversial appointments.

Patriot| 3.28.10 @ 6:34PM

Lie! 15 recess appointments at one time are HIGHLY unusual and democrats would be screaming bloody murder if a repub president had done this. Just more arrogance of power from the 'won'.

Nice lie, nice try, though.

republicrats| 3.28.10 @ 11:24PM

You are right. Bush didn't make 15 at one time. He made 20. It happened on July 30, 2004 in the middle of an election year. Here is the link. I don't expect you to read it though, as it's more fun to just accuse others of lying without supporting evidence.

http://www.usatoday.com/news/w.....cess_x.htm

And you are right about the Democrats screaming bloody murder. Remember John Bolton? Well now, its the Republicans screaming bloody murder. Politics as usual.

The only lie I've seen is by Mathew Vadum who says "Becker was decisively rejected by the Senate when his nomination came up for a vote last month." That was a vote to end the filibuster, not a vote on his appointment. Also the line about Becker "wanting all Americans to join a union whether they want to or not"should have a source to back up that whopper of a claim.

ds80| 3.29.10 @ 1:06AM

Remove your lips from Obama's butt.

republicrats| 3.29.10 @ 1:25AM

ad hominem argument...FAIL!

Janice| 3.29.10 @ 2:04AM

Becker is an extremist union organizer and supports card-check--pretty much supports Vadum's claim of forced union membership. That ain't no whopper, libtard--that's fact!

Republicrat:
What about the "NEW TONE" in Washington you liberal morons bleated about nonstop during the 2008 campaign? Obama said he was going to clean up Washington and restore civility: Just another Obama lie like the vaunted liberal "TRANSPARENCY" that turned into back-room deals in the dead of night on a holiday BS.
You're a bunch of liars and hypocrites--like cockroaches, you scatter when the light hits you. Hacks.

You're comparing apples to oranges--GW made those 20 appointments during the congressional summer recess which is a substantially longer period than a one week spring vacation.

15 recess appointments during Spring break week? UNPRECEDENTED and outrageous.

Becker lied to John McCain's face in a congressional hearing regarding his work for ACORN: WHY? Just the fact that he was caught lying is more than enough evidence to disqualify the b*stard.

Many of Obama's nominees have been caught lying; either they're tax cheats or radicals. Becker is a radical--like Obama.

Patriot| 3.29.10 @ 3:07AM

You're a Patriot?| 3.30.10 @ 7:57PM

Kind of hard to bring in bi-partisanship and civility when the other side won't even come to the table in a functional manner and instead act like two year olds throwing a tantrum. You lost the election by a majority vote. Get over it. Come to work for the people or go home. One week, two weeks - you're parsing semantics. Doesn't matter how long the recess was, the FACT is GW did more, and as usual you all can't accept the truth on it's face. If I had the time and inclination, I'm sure I could find many conservatives potential appointees who lied. They're dang near politicians, who, guess what, LIE. Hacks? Like the ones you hold so dear who ran this country into the ground? Like those hacks? Wake up and smell the BS - it lies on both sides of the aisle.

You're A Patriot?| 3.30.10 @ 7:51PM

Bush did 170, that's right 170 recess appointments. And the democrats didn't scream because they are too spineless.

Nice try at refuting what really WASN'T a lie...

Pete| 3.28.10 @ 3:20PM

More bi-partisanship from the King! This horse's ass has no respect for the country or its form of government. When you are the product of affirmative action, AND a lawyer, I suppose rules simply don't apply to you. Dangerous arrogance.

Ken (Old Texican)| 3.28.10 @ 3:26PM

Oldefarte, God bless.

Listen carefully, sir.....impeachment of Obama in THIS congress is simply impossible...WASTED EFFORT.........got it now?
Whew...thank you. Let's move on to real useful efforts to stymie communism, OK?

Question: who are the congress critters in your district/State?
Let us help you lame duck the bad ones and re-elect the good ones........... in November.

Hey Ken: Thanks for the advice today, but the Gods of Golf did not shine upon me today!! It was windy, and pretty cold, and rained for 14 of the 18 holes. But I could swear, on one hole, that I really saw the line, a hard break to the right, and it went right in. So the next time I'm out there, I'll try it again, and let you know how I do. So you shoot in the low 90's, huh? I hate you Ken (just jealous)!!

Oldefarte| 3.29.10 @ 11:59AM

Dud, shazam, Ken, I don'ts 'got it now'! Impeachment WOULD NOT be a wasted effort, since, even if unsuccessful due to R's lack of numbers/votes, it would still distract congress from efforts such as Welfarecare, Terrorist Reform, Cap & Tax,etc. GOT IT NOW?????

Patriot claims Bush didn't make this many appointments? Here's the dates when Bush made this many and more appointments:

8/1/03-9/2/03 15 appointments
7/22/04-9/7/04 20 appointments
1/3/06-1/18/06 21 appointments

Here's the full Congressional document of the 171 recess appointments made by Bush:

The fact is that this was just a way Republicans used to make Obama look bad just as the Dems did to Bush. But then again, to you right wing extremists don't look at factual information -- as usual.

Nick| 3.28.10 @ 9:19PM

Pay no attention to 3/5 Bob's comments, folks.

For those who don't know, he is known as 3/5 Bob, because until last June, he thought that blacks had 3/5 of a vote, under the original U.S. Constitution.

He also doesn't know the scientific fact of when human biological life begins because he is unsure of when "ensoulment" happens.

He also claimed he translated the Bible from the original Aramaic when he was a teenager.

He is a pseudo-intellectual and an anti-Christian bigot.

Don't waste your time arguing with him.

Nick| 3.28.10 @ 9:20PM

And, he can't seem to type so well, after 7 p.m.

Must be past his bedtime.

Patriot| 3.29.10 @ 2:06AM

Bob, You've lied so many times about Reagan's poll numbers, I'm sure you're lying about this matter, too. I'll check for myself.

Patriot| 3.29.10 @ 3:06AM

Bob, senility rears it's goofy head once again! Why would I say GW didn't make this many (15) recess appointments during his 8 years as POTUS? That doesn't make sense. Either you didn't read my post in your haste to call me a liar or you're just a dummie.

I stated that GW didn't make 15 recess appointments at one time (he made 3 over Spring break) and clarified my comment further by saying GW's appointments were made during the Congressional summer recess--a longer period of time than Spring break.

Obama's 15 recess appointments made during a short Spring break are unprecedented, troll. I wonder what the 'won' has in store for us over the summer recess--can hardly wait, bet you can't either, Bob.

Damn! What chutzpah! Bob the liar who lies constantly called me a liar.

Bob| 3.29.10 @ 9:54AM

Look at the data, Patriot. I posted the times that Bush made at least 15 appointments during a short recess. Are you really that dumb?

Patriot| 3.29.10 @ 7:52PM

Were any of Bush's appointments caught in the act of flagrantly lying to a Senator's face? Especially after a bruising and bloody legislative battle like ObamaCare.

I'm not dumb, I just ignored you--it's become a habit of mine.
Try to rationalize that one away, Robert V.

"The fact is that this was just a way Republicans used to make Obama look bad just as the Dems did to Bush. But then again, to you right wing extremists don't look at factual information -- as usual."

Bob,

If you're worried about "looking at factual information," then I hope you'll talk to all the Democrats in Congress who voted for ObamaCare without even bothering to read the legislation. Judging from Obama's interview on Fox News a couple of weeks ago, it's clear that not even "The Smartest President in History" really knew what was in the bill he was touting.

Do you?

Bob| 3.29.10 @ 9:57AM

I didn't "tout" the bill. I was always against it in my posts because it doesn't attack the main problem -- costs. But that doesn't negate the stupidity of the posts here and that of the Republican party with the exception of Paul Ryan. Fiscal conservatives should have supported the Medicare cuts in the bill because they should be for reducing entitlements thereby making the government smaller. But they were against the Medicare cuts because they aren't true fiscal conservatives.

Patriot| 3.29.10 @ 7:48PM

Oh, you liar! You supported ObamaCare from the beginning. Dope.

Ran / Si Vis Pacem | 3.28.10 @ 9:24PM

MarkJ - trust me - Bob is not worried about "looking at factual information" in the least. Comedy!

Right - so this dude Becker will simply have to join the list of defendants in the coming investigations.
