Rasmussen Reports says GOP ahead by ten points on the generic congressional poll:

Republican candidates have now stretched their lead over Democrats to 10 points in the Generic Congressional Ballot, their biggest lead ever in nearly three years of weekly tracking. The GOP has been leading on the ballot for months.

The new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 45% would vote for their district's Republican congressional candidate while 35% would opt for his or her Democratic opponent. Voter support for GOP congressional candidates increased slightly from last week, while support for Democrats fell two points.

Republicans started 2010 ahead by nine points, while support for Democrats fell to its lowest level over the same period. Towards the end of 2009, GOP candidates enjoyed a more modest lead over Democrats, with the gap between the two down to four points in early December. Since the beginning of the year, however, the Republican lead hasn't dipped below seven points.

Even if Rasmussen's polling overstates Republican support, the GOP advantage appears to be large and stable.  Passage of health care "reform," especially through a procedural trick, will not go down well with an electorate already riled against the ruling party.

I feel sorry for the left. If they hated Bush HALF as much as I hate Obama – they must have really suffered.

I don’t like to use the word ‘hate’ but it’s an appropriate word to describe what I feel. I was thinking that I should pray about it, but doesn’t God hate evil?

Oh wait, I’m not God. I’ll go pray now…

Bandow --

No one is surprised Republicans are favored for an off year election when Democrats control Congress and the White House.

Off year elections almost always favor the party out of power.

What Republicans don't want to hear -- as usual -- is history and basic political science.

So...tell us.

I did tell you. Historically -- for these past several decades -- the minority party makes tremendous gains in off year elections.

Americans like to check majorities. We check conservatives when they're in power and we check liberals when they're in power.

If Republicans don't make significant gains in Congress next November it will be a very big surprise to anyone who knows anything about electoral politics in this country.

Not by 10 points, not by a longshot. That's a lot.

Nice try, though, Drew, er, I mean Liberal Reader, but you can't put lipstick on that pig!
Sooooeeeeee!

What did you think of Bret Baier's interview with Obama today? Things got a little testy there; Baier roughed him up pretty good, I thought. Obama's not used to that.

I liked the House minority leaders comments this morning on C-SPAN1.. He said that Obama has been telling Reps that he has summoned to the White House that this is all about his presidency and his chances for reelection... the Minority Leader said... "Mr. President this is NOT about you it is about the American People and what they want, and they don;'t want this particular health care bill."... I will vote every damn democrat in florida out that I can and will stump for the betty boop is she ran against the one's that can't. If Congress won't listen to the people then the people will make them listen by voting them out.

Liberal Reader, you really don't get it do you? most of the country as in an overwhelming majority dislike having democratic reps completely ignore the constituents that elected them. So what will you liberals do when you are paying higher taxes and getting less? You really have not answered the question... you just repeated yourself, like a broken record..

Indeed. Remember when LR predicted the recent MA election? Surprise to many, but not to him. Nothing remarkable to see here. Pay no attnention to even MSM polls going negative on Osama. Pay no attention to Dems in blue districts declining to run again because they know they are hanging themsleves with Healthcare rope (though they remain sure of Osama's promise of taxpayer funded 'virgins' in the next life) Staggering intellect. Truly staggering. Thank you, thank you, thank you, for lowering yourself to spend time here enlightening everyone. Really, the definition of altruism. You are a Saint, or whatever the secular equivalent is...a Gore, maybe?

To Liberal reader: " Have nice day".

To others : What is important to me is to ask why the Socialist democrat Party leadership are so tone deaf--or are they ?

This is what scares me: First is election fraud including all kings of huliganism, ballot stuffing and you name it on on the SD Party's part.
Second, will BHO " deem" that there is only one party and one leader ? Strong imagination--not so fast. But even so, I believe many more voters than the SD Party want to know do follow more and more what is going on in Washington and as it continues this drama behind closed door, imaginations run wild. About what ? Deal making, bones breaking what ever it takes. The people are paying attention and have pretty good idea of what is happening. That is what is going on.

Not To Know:

I've tried to understand the Democrats and their willingness
to place Americans in slavery using debt. One day the truth
will show that the Progressive Left used convertible value
to secure the vote of Democrats, e.g., bribes.

Missy| 3.18.10 @ 10:19PM

I think it's more sinister than that--democrats are using the Cloward-Piven strategy to take over our Republic.

Google Cloward-Piven.

Glenn Beck aired an ill-gotten audio of a progressives mtg where Sen Charles Schumer talks about "looking at the Bill of Rights" for an overhaul! Unbelievable: some of these people are truly traitors to their people and country!
