If you don’t understand who these people are — e.g., Jim Wallis of the far-left group Sojourners, which promoted Marxist “liberation theology” in the '80s — then you might be confused by this headline:

Pro-life group urges Congress
to pass Senate health care bill

The expression “useful idiots” rings a bell here, although it remains to be seen exactly how useful these particular idiots will be.

what about the sacred wall of separation between church and state?

Yah, well, Bryan Massingale has his problems with Catholicism, too, regardless of his title. Same w/Ms. Cahill.

No surprise that both of them teach their .....stuff...at Jesuit colleges.

L A Stich| 3.13.10 @ 6:00PM

Sure enough, Massingale endorsed gay "marriage" in Wisconsin.

Almost got to speak about it at a Catholic church, but (then)-Abp. Dolan pullled the plug on that.

The liberal "church" Catholic or otherwise, proves itself fellow travelers of a godless, secularist, statist government.

What about heretic is not understood here?

Let's not even comment on the fact that most of the "CAtholics" listed believe in abortion which is against the tenant of the Church. Catholic Health Alliance also supports the bill. In 2009 they gave 1 million dollars toward this bill passing. Can you say "Morrally bankrupt?" . I thought you could.

I agree with comments here; churches are no longer doing what they suppose to do, which is to teach God's Word. It does not include abortion, gay marriage or other indecent proposals. The Ten Commandments are there for a reason, and if one is broken, all are broken.
A godless society can and will not survive.

The Leftist says: "Well, I'm against it personally (abortion).. but I am resigned to the fact that I can't do a thing to change the law of the land."~Cop out!

I know a man who helped pay for the abortion of a girl who got pregnant by a co-worker. I asked him how could he do that? He said he "personally" thinks it's wrong, but.........

" ObamaCare Endorsed by the Religious Left ...."

Big Deal!

Remember when ACORN 'registered' Mickey Mouse - in 'support' of candidate BHO?

It should also be remembered that Sojourners (i.e. Jim Wallis) in the late 1970's told its readers that to be “faithful to Christ” the United States should more or less surrender to the Soviet Union in order to end the nuclear standoff. It assured all that even with a Soviet takeover our rights would be unaffected.

I am sure Jim Wallis is making a similar pitch for Obamacare. No real discussion on the merits. Just "to be faithful to Christ" we must extend medical care to all. Jesus would want us to make healthcare a "right" for every man, woman and child.

It is interesting that the same Jesus who never spoke about what form of government is best for mankind suddenly has revealed his extensive demands in favor for or against legislation that comes before Congress

Everyone has differing opinion but the Commandments are very straightforward without much room for discussion. I think that we need to get back to the principles of our founding fathers. Thank you for such an interesting post.
