As one of Stupak's constituients, I agree.

Hey, Becky. I used to live in the Houghton area. Where are you in Da Yoop?

Larry Hunter is exactly right. The Stupid Party, aka The Spineless Party are clueless & too trusting of so-called "Blue Dog Democrats" "Blue Dog Democrats" will be bought by Nazi Pelosi with Porkulous Money, therefore making Stupak not only a traitor to his own "cause", but also a non-factor in this mess. Pro-lifers, hopefully learned their lesson the first time & won't trust Stupak To do what only Almighty GOD can do at this point. Abortion on demand will be brought to an end by GOD & only by GOD & then there will be hell to pay. Anyone who believes otherwise is fooling themself.

I think what James is saying is that once Stupak delivers his vote(s), and the President signs ObamaCare, the Senate will renege on any promises to reconcile this monstrosity of a bill. And why should they? There's an election coming in November, and 12 Dems are up for re-election. Once the bill is signed into law it is game over. The Senate will do nothing. And there is nothing Stupak and the House can do about it. This will go down as one of the greatest political coups in history. And the House members will be left to fend for themselves.

We don't have the votes! What are the Republicans supposed to do; hogtie Stupak and make him vote against ObamaCare?
Stupid criticism from the stupid peanut-gallery.

Not much you can do to stop a man if he wants to kill himself, in whatever fashion. Think of it this way: Ten percent of deaths in inpatient psychiatric hospitals in the US occur when the patient is on ONE-TO-ONE monitoring. If the Dems think this is important enough to destroy themselves for, they will have it.
My own feeling is that, except in matters of National Defense (where the Senators and Reps MAY have data not available to the general public), our Congressional representatives in both houses should follow the polls pretty closely.
Or, to put it another way, as a physician working in an inpatient Psychiatric Hospital, I know more about the delivery of Mental Health Care than any of my non-physician congressional reps, one of which was a professional comedian.

Professional? Yes. Comedian? Not so much.
