A SurveyUSA
poll has Rand Paul leading Kentucky Secretary of State Trey
Grayson 42 percent to 27 percent in the race for the Republican
senatorial nomination. On the Democratic side, Kentucky Lt. Gov.
Dan Mongiardo has a similarly imposing lead of 45 percent to 27
percent over Attorney General Jack Conway. The SurveyUSA result
for the Republicans isn’t much different than what Public Policy
Polling found in December, with Paul leading by 19 points. But it
is a big difference for the Democrats — the earlier poll showed
Conway leading by four. SurveyUSA shows the race to replace
retiring Sen. Jim Bunning could be competitive, since 43 percent
prefer a generic Republican and 42 percent want a generic
Democrat.

Conservatives need to push back against the Paultards who are trying to hijack the GOP. The Paultards are not conservatives but conspiracy theorists who believe the Federal Reserve, the Illuminati, and Israel are conspiring to take over America.

Even if it WAS true that the Pauls are conspiracy theorists, that still sounds like a better option than this ridiculous cycle of big-spending, government expanding candidates that we call the "generic" Republicans and Democrats.

This is a very interesting article that shows Paul a shoe-in however, I’m going to inject some reality. If Rand Paul survives and wins the primary, he’s most likely toast in the general election. He has gone out of his way to alienate most of the GOP base (as well as County GOP officials) throughout the state in one form or another. While his appeal is strong with most indy’s (who can’t vote in the primary unless they’ve changed their affiliation) and the Libertarians, he will need a solidified GOP base to win in Novemeber. I know that many of this base will be sitting on their hands come November. There is also a large segment that is anti-Paul because Ron did not support the GOP in 2008. Paybacks can be a bitch!

"There is also a large segment that is anti-Paul because Ron did not support the GOP in 2008." Party before principle, you gotta love it! In any case if Rand Paul wins the nomination than the choice is a Conservative libertarian Republican who will never side with the Democrats. Or a Moderate Conservative Democrat who will side with the Democrats on most big issues except for the social ones. And if he ends up being as popular as Rockefeller and Byrd, then he could keep that seat for years to come. So, we either back the candidate that has been endorsed by Erick Erickson, Sarah Palin, Steve Forbes, and Freedom Works. Or we sit this election out, and hope the Democrat doesn't turn out to be another Evan Bayh or Mary Landrieu. Yeah, I think I'll stick with Rand Paul.
