President Obama, in a meeting aimed at winning over liberal House members who have problems with the pending health care bill, pledged to "revisit the public option in the future," according to a report from Talking Points Memo.

As I noted when Democrats passed the Senate bill, the whole idea all along was to lay a foundation that they could build on over time. That's why the debate over whether this current bill is a government takeover is misleading. The point is that the bill puts the architecture in place so that it can achieve a government-run health care system over time.

Meanwhile, after coming out of the meeting, Raul Grijalva, a House liberal leader who yesterday said he was leaning against voting for the bill, told TPM that Obama had made a "compelling" argument that failure would compromise the progressive agenda and damage his presidency.

The messiah has promised many things to a lot of people....

I would strongly suggest that anyone considering taking any action based on his promises look to his record of keeping them before they take an irreversible action.

That hopey changey thing isn’t well know for living up to the promises.

Seems to me they fall more in line with”…the check is in the mail”, and the possibly more appropriate “…. Why of course I will respect you in the morning…”

Failure of the Obama health-care plan SHOULD compromise the progressive agenda. Because that agenda is seriously flawed, and is more about power than it is about helping the average people they slyly look down and sneer upon on a daily basis.

Well now - shades of a gobble gobble meeting of
the minds.

Phrase puts the architecture in place, pretty well says exactly where the die is now cast.
bt
There is no longer any doubt, OBNA has "put his cards on the table, called the USA Electorate bet" as they say on the poker channels.
Well, now that we know exactly where the OBNA is headed, w/o any lingering wishful thinking. BRING IT ON.
bt
As this is written the Congressional Reps are bailing out faster than Pelosi can count. The Senate is running for cover. Reid and co, need no longer wonder, if anyone is listening. We fully grasp the situation.
bt
NOW. What to do.
1. Write every Sub Committee chmn. Every Majority and Minority leader, whereever they are, whatever they are in charge of. Lay out the rules for RE Election.
2. Fiscal Pay as you go. No further legislation for EPA regs, no further Fiscal Bills unless and untill the debt = zero and the list goes on. We know the drill.
3. HAMMER each and every day. Regardless of the topic. We cannot let the drip drip drip stop. This tactic is straight out of Old Saul Alysnskis' book and it works.
