Facing a primary challenge from conservative J.D. Hayworth in Arizona, McCain volunteers to help the GOP establishment's handpicked choice in Florida:

The 73-year-old senator said he hasn't been asked by Florida Gov. Charlie Crist (R) to campaign for him in his GOP primary battle with former state House Speaker Marco Rubio (R), but that he would be willing.
Crist and then-Sen. Mel Martinez (R) gave McCain a critical endorsement in the waning days of Florida's GOP presidential primary in 2008 that helped McCain defeat Romney and former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani. Both dropped out of the primary race within days, clearing McCain's path to the GOP nomination.
"Sure, I'd be glad to try to help him," McCain said of Crist, who is under fire from conservatives for backing Obama's stimulus package.

Florida, like Arizona, is a popular location for retirement. Hint, hint.

McCain needs to go. After reading his transcript from yesterday on climate change, he proves yet again that he will undermine conservatives if he feels like it and the tea party movement means nothing to him.

Where was it that I read in a blog that McCain is the Darth Vader of the Republican Party?
Crist needs to go as well. Need to get more conservative people doing the people's business. We are NOT the serfs!

bluecollarbytes| 2.25.10 @ 9:35AM

Would Palin campaign for Marco Rubio if asked?

Heatpacker| 2.25.10 @ 9:37AM

What could be more perfect? One RINO campaigning for another RINO. McCain's true colors are now on full display. In Florida, he supports the mealy-mouthed, vapid, Establishment Republican candidate over the vital, eloquent Conservative. The time has come for McCain to go. J. D. Hayworth for Senate!

...Birds of a feather...uh...flock together? heh.

Time for the old guard to step aside and that means McCain ,along with every other pusedo conservative. The GOP will never rise again with the likes of Crist or McCain. Goodby John, we've had enough of you and your ilk.

Conan the Grammarian| 2.25.10 @ 11:51AM

"Pusedo" conservative. I think that you meant "Pseudo" but I like Pusedo better. McCain is a Pusedo Republican.

It figures and we should not be surprised. Birds of a feather.

The rules have changed and no longer can Conservatives accept the accomodationist wing of the GOP as a lesser of two evils. and is drawn and here we stand.

If. like Cato, we fail (and die) still history will record that Liberty was worth fighting for and someday a new dawn will free people from the dark night of tyranny clouding our horizon.

John McCain. Crisp, crisp toast. Charcoal black and oh so fragrant. John sure knows how to finish strong, doesn't he?
Fare thee well old American hero.

Yeah, McCain, help your buddy out. Campaign for him. Become his spokesman. I hope you do as well for Crist as you did for yourself. Please do campaign for Crist, John McCain. Finish yourself off, for good, I beg you .HTML Menu
