Go Out... and Multiply!!

Off the cuff, that was my closing message at the panel I moderated at CPAC on Saturday: There are 10,000 of you conservatives here today; now go out and multiply!

I hereby propose that as a rallying cry, a slogan, for the conservative movement.

;)

My former boss and good friend Mark Tapscott, unbeknownst to me, was kind enough to post the video (again, see the link above). Phil also wrote about it, very much on point (and thanks for the compliment). I was fortunate to be associated with such excellent panelists, full of both wit and intellectual firepower.

Now we also need that wit and intellect to go out and multiply as well!

I'd like to go out and multiply, but so far, I haven't found a good conservative wife.

Ah well. I'll keep my eye out. I'm sure there are a few around. :p

Derek Leaberry| 2.22.10 @ 1:07PM

I have six children but I'll be damned if they turn out to be the sort of "conservative" that would abide the sodomite group GOProud or would endorse Grover Norquist or David Keene.

Sir, you are so wrong it's bizarre. I realize you absolutely hate gay people. I don't know why, I don't care. But, again - All Men Are Endowed By Their Creator Certain Inalienable Rights -- Among Them, Life Liberty AND the Pursuit of Happiness.
You are going to be such a lonely political force of a few as you keep dismissing the rights of a few millions of people.
No doubt, though I can't be for sure, you'd like all the gays to just be locked up, or worse.
Well, sir, next time you are in a church - -go take a peek at your church organist and choir -- I'd dare say you are listening to the music made by gay men.
Oh well, 'tis your loss that you are so intent on Denying rights -- when you should be working to preserve and expand them.
I feel sorry for your gay relatives - don't think you have any? Ha!

Missy| 2.22.10 @ 8:19PM

You're wrong, Hlavac; Leaberry doesn't hate gay people.

Strident gay activists trying to force their extremist agenda on us? Maybe so, and he's not alone.

Hey Quin~ I agree~go out & multiply! But I also want to say this: We already are! And isn't it hopeful?
What I see too, is that people are waking up all by themselves. Isn't it great that most Americans think and live along basic conservative principles anyway, despite what the Left tries to say!
Rush nailed today when he said "This is the American people against Obama, and the Republicans have the majority."
I'm hopeful. We all can be. And this little peon is never going to quit the fight.

We don't need the Paul Troopers to go out and multiply.

CPAC is dominated by a Children's Crusade. Let's hope it is a temporary phenom and the adults can restore order.

We don't not need Randian ideologues as the public face of conservatism.

Jeff Perren| 2.22.10 @ 7:20PM

If you can provide an evidence-based, logical argument to show any of Rand's fundamental ideas to be in error it would be interesting to read.

I'm betting you can't.

Oldefarte| 2.22.10 @ 3:03PM

I'd recommend that EVERYONE listen to Glenn Beck's CPAC address----it's extremely BRILLIANT and EMOTIONALLY MOVING [the video/audio is all over the internet and is well worth observing/listening to]!!!!!!

Cliff| 2.22.10 @ 5:11PM

If by "brilliant" and "emotionally moving" you mean "irrational" and "self-congratulatory", then yes.

SoCon| 2.22.10 @ 8:09PM

Cliff, "Projection is a pillar of Leftist thought:" I suggest you look in the mirror.

Glenn Beck is an American hero; you, not so much.

Oldefarte| 2.23.10 @ 1:12PM

No, I meant [the words] that I said/wrote-------you're not 'BRILLIANT' enough to clarify and define my intended speech, so go try same with your children!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MikeBee| 2.22.10 @ 3:18PM

Quin,
Thanks for the comments. That really IS the long-term solution to a LOT of our problems today. 1) convert folks to conservatism and create a monster majority; 2) reproduce at the same numbers that our parents did, from the WWII generation (solving, in only one generation's time, Social Security funding problems, rising health insurance premiums problems, Medicare funding problems; 3) so many other problems I can't think about right now.

Scott| 2.22.10 @ 5:21PM

I'd be happy to go forth and multiply, but I can't seem to find anyone willing to study math with me.

Robert Stacy McCain| 2.22.10 @ 7:37PM

As a father of six myself, I am not responsible for the failure of others (ahem) to keep pace.
