Let's concede that not all climate alarmists are dishonest.
Still, Climategate keeps on getting worse (or better, depending
upon one's point of view). Now Phil Jones, the man at the
center of the scandal at East Anglia's Climate Research Unit,
admits that maybe we aren't currently warming.
The academic at the centre of the ‘Climategate' affair, whose
raw data is crucial to the theory of climate change, has
admitted that he has trouble ‘keeping track' of the
information.
Colleagues say that the reason Professor Phil Jones has refused
Freedom of Information requests is that he may have actually
lost the relevant papers.
Professor Jones told the BBC yesterday there was truth in the
observations of colleagues that he lacked organisational
skills, that his office was swamped with piles of paper and
that his record keeping is ‘not as good as it should be'.
The data is crucial to the famous ‘hockey stick graph' used by
climate change advocates to support the theory.
Professor Jones also conceded the possibility that the world
was warmer in medieval times than now - suggesting global
warming may not be a man-made phenomenon.
And he said that for the past 15 years there has been no
‘statistically significant' warming.
True, Prof. Jones argues that the recent warming halt is just a
"blip." But it's increasingly hard to take anything he says
seriously.
AGW is and always will be a hoax. "Global warming" never was a
real scientific theory because there was no experiment you could
do to prove it was false. Using anecdotes of extreme weather as
proof of "global warming" is not science. In fact, if global
temperatures are normally distributed, then there will always be
some measurement that is five or six standard deviations from the
mean. This outlier will then be touted as the hotest or coldest
temperature ever recorded there.

AGW is a hoax because science cannot explain, much less model the
historical climate.
If you cannot explain the historical climate, you cannot predict
the future climate nor model it.
Earth has experience numerous periods - some very lengthy - of
ice ages (all of which ended in global warming), and global
warming (all of which, eventually end in ice ages).
Other than rather good correlations with the sun's activity, the
earths orbit and precession as it rotates, science is unable to
explain any of this.
They merely provide conjectures (i.e. guesses).

The clue was in the earliest statements by Al Gore, " The science
is settled." Not likely.
Best entertainment of the week: Rush played clips of 2003
statements by Sen. Robert Byrd and Rep. Nancy Pelosi, distressed
about the lack of snow back then. 'Something is going on!'

NBC is on board...can't escape global warming talk watching the
Olympics. They just keep trying to hammer it into people's
consciousness. I thought this was the US and not the former USSR?
This is what happens when scientists are following an agenda
instead of searching for evidence.
Weatherbot| 2.14.10 @ 1:41PM
I have laerned over the years that just because you are a
scientist doesn't make you good at math. I have done several
statistical studies of temperatures in various cities around the
US and am not finding the kinds of trends the experts predict.
You can view my research on Weatherbot.blogspot.com.

I often wonder how people can miss the obvious. How can 46% still
approve of little o?
I think that I glimpsed a tiny window into the why. In lunch-time
discussions with co-workers this week I mentioned Climategate,
and three of the six people at the table said, "What's
Climategate"?
Either they are totally not paying attention, or are only
watching the MSM. Without hearing any truth, how can we expect
them to make informed choices?
It's up to us to inform them. We cannot allow ourselves to be
quiet any longer.
But don't run from them, ridicule or despise them – feel sorry
for them. Help them learn, but be patient and kind. Remember what
it was like to learn there was no Santa Clause or Easter Bunny.
Be gentle.

Franklin: I feel you pain man, I really do!! I suffer through the
same stupid looks from most people I work with too, anytime I
bring up politics, or global (cough cough!!) warming, or anything
that may be construed as being in the news. It looks like, if
it's not on American Idol, (which I have never seen, nor will I
ever watch) most people don't have a clue about what's going on,
and that's pretty sad. Most of them believe that Global Warming
is happening, just because it's been repeated so many times, so
they assume, it has to be true (it's not, it's a lie).
As a representation, of just how sad it really is out there, I
recently read an article, about how college doesn't make you
smarter, just more liberal, and they had the civic test results,
to prove their point. The average American, if I remember
correctly, scored a 49% on this test, with college educators,
scoring a 55%. So I figured, what the hell, I'll see how I do on
it, and hopefully I can beat a 49%. Well it turns out, I'm a
friggin' genius or something, because I scored a 78.79%, and I'm
only a High School graduate (class of 85), and I wasn't that good
in school either, just average. So it appears to me, that
American's are getting "more stupid" by the minute. So if you
want to feel superior, like I do now, to all the stupid people
walking around (believing in stupid things), go take this civics
test, and see how you do, it's only 33 questions long. If you
beat my score by a lot, don't rub it in too much, okay?
Thanks for the link. I enjoyed taking the test. I scored 81.85%
which makes me smarter than the average college educator, and
that with a high school education - graduated 1976. I just like
to read a lot!

Does anyone share my skepticism about this turn of events? Do you
possibly think that Jones is positioning himself to declare that
the AGW scare was wrong because we are actually experiencing AGC
and we need to give him gobs of money to study it???
Eric Cartman| 2.14.10 @ 6:18PM
Well, thanks a lot, Franklin! Had to go give them the idea,
didn't ya?! I hope you're happy, now! Why don't ya just tell 'em
to say that CO2 is responsible for the cooling, while you're at
it! Couldn't keep your thoughts to yourself! Jeeeeeeeez!

skepticism? They've run out of talking points, I think. Not to
worry, the NY times ran an article yesterday that explains it
all. Apparently the recent spat of freezing cold weather and
record snow fall is the result of global warming. Any extreme
weather condition anywhere any time is the result of GW. How can
you argue with that? They can twist and shape anything to fit
their weird fantasies. I give up. Now I understand why wars are
fought.
