The Spectacle Blog

After getting taken to the woodshed for the past few weeks for their nonsensical response to the Tim Tebow Superbowl ad, Planned Parenthood is treading water. The nation’s largest abortion provider created an ad featuring athletes Sean James and Al Joyner backing the pro-choice cause.

I guess this is the left’s response to the “anti-choice,” “anti-woman” Tebow spot. But compared to the fury from feminist and liberal groups enraged that Pam Tebow would choose life, the sentiment expressed in PP’s new commercial is milquetoast.

Maybe they finally got a clue that attacking one woman’s courageous choice to bring her son to term — a son who ended up becoming a college football star — doesn’t jive in the court of public opinion. That realization came a couple weeks too late.

The irony in this ad, which will be lost on the multitudes, is that Planned Parenthood was originally founded by the racist bigot Margaret Sanger who wanted to rid society of undesirable Irish and African American babies. Planned Parenthood presently specifically targets African-American neighboorhoods for its activities and disproportionately snuffs out the lives of African-American children (remember the James O'Keefe "donor" video on this).

JohnD:
"Planned Parenthood was originally founded by the racist bigot Margaret Sanger who wanted to rid society of undesirable Irish and African American babies."

Yes. let us not forget who Margaret Sanger was and remind everyone, including Liberals, who may be Reading this, who she was and what she stood for.

What I always find most interesting about Liberals is how they have to defend EVERYTHING they do. I wonder if they'll ever get it? They have to defend everything because they're almost always wrong! Particularly on abortion.

Being "Pro-Choice" sounds ever so much better than being a "Baby Killer", which is really what they are. However, and I know this will sound really terrible, but it IS factual, the vast majority of babies killed by abortionists since Row v. Wade have been black or potential Democrats as determined purely by the demographics of the women most likely to have undergone an abortion. The numbers go as high as 30 million dead potential Democrats and Blacks.

I realize that this is an absolutely hideous line of thought, but facts are sometimes difficult things to accept. I have no problem stating that I am absolutely against abortion unless it is for purely medical reasons to protect the life of the mother. Live women trump unborn babies, but that's as far as I go. Just think of what our Country would look like demographically if all those babies had lived and grown to maturity in time to vote in 2000, 2004, and 2008. The mind boggles.

for these people its not about choice,it's all about their choice...abortion!!!

catholic mom| 2.6.10 @ 12:08AM

JohnD is spot on. Planned Parenthood was founded by the racist Margaret Sanger and more African-American babies are aborted than white babies...some in the African American community are recognizing this...I have seen them at Pro-Life Marches. I was shocked when I saw this video with these young men. They surely don't know what they are doing.

Free sex with no consequences is every mans' right, we don't want to be stuck with these b*&^%es you know.

That is why we support abortion. It's good for da playa's ya!

JohnD| 2.6.10 @ 6:09PM

This kinda proves my point. . .

Jean| 2.9.10 @ 4:16PM

Hey Floyd, why not go to a low-cost spay-neuter clinic instead of visiting the consequences of your selfishness on your unborn child? WE don't want to have to support your bastard children either, but killing kids isn't the solution unless, like Ms Sanger, you run around with Nazis (yes, she also shacked up with a Nazi sympathizer). I'd rather see the "adults" (in your case, in name only) take more responsibility.

As practices formerly held perverted, obscene, lewd even when practiced between spouses have become acceptable, even encouraged by supposed moral leaders, why is it any surprise that more perversion has become common, even publicly promoted?

DaftPunk| 2.6.10 @ 3:00PM

I don't get it.

Bass doesn't explain what PP's "nonsensical" response had been. It's not explained by the article he links to or any of his previous writing.

PP has not joined the hysterical hand-wringing of other groups protesting this ad, as Mrs. Tebow made a choice, and all women should be empowered to make their own choices.

Bass of course ignores the hypocrisy of CBS claiming to have a policy of rejecting controversial issue ads when liberals come calling, but when a conservative Christian group ponies up the millions, its "what policy?"

The choice to kill is immoral and wrong, no matter how sniffily sophisticated you and the likes of you make it out to be, Daft

ABOUT 50 Million children have been butchered in America, most of those were black.
Most of those would have been contributing into Social Security and might it helped to keep it solvent. And yes perhaps most might have become democratic voters, thus negating the need for open border policies and amnesty programs for illigal immigrants from the south. ed

Copyleft| 2.8.10 @ 2:11PM

So the Planned Parenthood response is "milquetoast"?

Umm, that's called "sane and rational" here in the real world, folks. You're disappointed that they're not offering the screaming, delusionl propaganda you were hoping for--because you foolishly assume that's what they HAVE to offer?

You've shot yourselves in the foot again, folks. Choice is here to stay.

MarciaJ| 2.8.10 @ 2:31PM

But what a sad, tragic immoral "choice" abortion is. What is sane and rational about a woman choosing to have her own living, growing child torn to pieces and vacuumed out of her womb?

Bill| 4.6.10 @ 8:37PM

I am black, abortion is wrong now and it was wrong in 1920's, but the right wing conservatives went along with Planned Parenthood. They didn't anything about it , like they are now. They would like to get rid of all Blacks in this country. Read the News. Why? Because hate anybody that is not like them. White

I thought the whole situation with Alex having dinner at the Braverman's was actually great...they did a really good job of making it just the right amount of tense and somewhat humorours, too. I also loved that song they played when Adam invited Alex to dinner ("At the Doors" by Junip), it really fit the scene so well. FYI, you can watch that at http://vimeo.com/18607863
