If a politician has to go before the Congress and the American public to refute his policy will “Snuff Grandma” that policy is dead. There was no possibility Obama-Care could survive the “Death Panels” counter-arguments. The real killer was when a rudimentary knowledge of how government works proved the “Death Panels” would be a result of Obama-Care. When the resulting legislative bills contained such Panels if not by name but by function the public turned against the bill in mass.
Obama-Care could be pushed to completion by a Legislative Blitzkrieg. But now it looks like the legislation has been stop short of the goal line. The reason is the Obama-Care would be both costly and harmful to the public and the public knew it.

Imagine you are CEO of a hospital today. Over the past 18 months or so we have had an ongoing debate over healthcare reform including an election. The goverment as one of the largest payers has huge control over your revenue and costs. So during the past year, you have had to guess what was coming out of government with reform. At some point you have to decide your best guess and form budgets for 2010. It kind of looks like the Senate Bill would lead the way and you go with that. Then, as you enter the new year, you learn nothing appears to be coming so everything you have done needs to be thrown out and new budgets formed. You expect something to happen during the year as pieces might pass thru, but which ones and when.
If you wonder about healthcare costs, look no further than the decades that they have had to live with huge control by the government on state and federal level. No other industry I know of has been as screwed over by government as healthcare. Want to fix healthcare? Get government out, not further involved.

Raising the age of first mammogram from 40 to 50 based on "new" evidence was a real killer.

When I look at those groups who support Obama and the Left Agenda I really shake my head. Those groups that I label "knee jerk democrats (not ideological ),"wannabeeeeeezz ( white guilt voters ) and even the "lets make a deal crony capitalists " have no idea what they are getting into with Obamacare. The "true believers (ideologues ) might and the "gimmeeeeeezzz" don't give hoot.. Yet even they will suffer because our health care system such as it is will collapse under Obama care.

You guys do realize that Paul Ryan's Republican alternative to solving the Medicare crisis will kill far more Grandma's than Obamacare, don't you????? It's not even close. Interestingly enough, I like Ryan's plan better than any other because it honestly attacks our major budgeting issue. His Republican leaders and most of you, however, don't have the huevos to back him on this.
