Sen. Chris Dodd called for "a breather" on health care for a month to six weeks.

Sen. Kent Conrad said, "People are sending us a loud and clear message that the package that's there now is not acceptable to them. You know, and whether that's because they don't fully understand what's in the package, as complex as it is, the fact is, you know, we've got to listen to the people that we represent...We've got to recalibrate."

Rep. John Dingell, meanwhile, warned that, ""There is only a limited amount of time to address this."

And President Obama evidently doesn't get what all the fuss is about, saying at a town hall meeting today that, "after the Massachusetts election people in Washington were all in a tizzy trying to figure out what this means for health reform."

It's over. They are totally back to square one.

The Left of course, being so wrapped up in convoluted Orwellian language has a very hard time with NO! Ah, so simple, so sweet the sound. NO! But alas, the powers that be hear NO! as "yes, we can." To their peril. Let me try one more time, oh Democrats, NO! There. Let's try in Spanish. NO. Other languages? Non, no, nyet, ne, nai, -- what language of NO don't they understand? Why, they know not the word NO, except when it comes to freedom, less taxes, and less government, and then, as they demonstrate today, and every day, their answer is a "No, we'll have socialism-royalism whether you want it or not."
What putzes. One last time. NO!

NO, it's a great word isn't it? I love it!! It keeps a person from doing, many stupid things, if you follow its meaning to a "T", which is easy if you try, it's just NO, you can't. And it sure is less complicated than that crazy long word YES, and a lot easier to spell too, being just "two" letters long, instead of three like YES.

The American People, are saying NO today, so just say NO to YES!!

Where are Liberal Reader and Bob?

Hey, Bob the 'RINO' who voted for Obama: How's your vote for the Ivy League (Bob went to Harvard, you know) educated and super competent candidate workin' out for you?

Bob must be too busy these days to answer questions.

Brown's election was worth it just to hush you up!

VideoSavant| 1.22.10 @ 11:50PM

Liberal Reader is likely stunned to silence by the irony of health care going down with The Swimmer.

It is rich and poetic.

Since there are no conservative parties, just two socialist parties, it would be a mistake to be too happy about this victory. This is a move from a high speech march to socialism to a medium speed march to socialism. Like Bush's socialist education and health care programs and McCain's cap & trade

Brown is a liberal Republican who voted for a Ted Kennedy approved health care program further left than Obama's which was signed into law by left wing Republican governor Mitt Romney.

Democrat Leader Harry Reid still has a working filibuster proof 60 vote majority because of all the RINOs like Snowe, Collins, and McCain (cap & trade, amnesty, etc).

Conservative citizens are awake and attending tea parties right now, but how long until they go back to sleep for another 15 years? That's what the liberal Republicans who run the party want, conservatives who do nothing but listen to talk radio and vote for every RINO on the ballot

SoCon| 1.23.10 @ 4:00AM

We're still in a world of hurt; who could possibly sleep now?

The (TEA!) party's just getting started!!

Margie| 1.23.10 @ 1:30PM

They only WISH we'd fall asleep now.

martin j smith| 1.23.10 @ 10:32AM

Brown won. Coakley lost. Democrats lost a seat.
And, the this was a vote against Obama and his policies.
Don't worry,be happy until there is proof Brown is not who he says he is. Until then.........

martin j smith| 1.23.10 @ 10:38AM

negativity in the face victory is very strange indeed.
Enjoy the possibility of more victories in the future but as they say: Trust but verify.
Keep your ears to the ground at all times to see what the opposition is up to. But, do not biuy negativity mantras from posters who I suspect could be trollers.

Siegfried X| 1.23.10 @ 12:53PM

Would you support Obama if he called himself a Republican?

That's what it comes down to, I don't care the slightest about the Republican name because a lot of lot of Democrats have joined the Republican Party. What matters is how they vote, not what they call themselves.

Margie| 1.23.10 @ 1:29PM

"That's what the liberal Republicans who run the party want, conservatives who do nothing but listen to talk radio and vote for every RINO on the ballot."
~You reveal yourself here as rather fraudulent when you say this. Liberal Republicans would want conservatives who listen to talk radio? Yeah, right!

We've heard just about enough of this type of phoney baloney. The fake, phony frauds who say there's no difference between the 2 Parties. Hogwash!
If you're for a Third Party just come out and say it already. You'd be putting yourself in the crowd that wants to split the ticket so that the Left wins again!

Be weary of wounded wild animals. This is when they are most dangerous. Keep your mental distance and think "new trick" at all times until the right time. You all will know when that is. But do not hold your breath.

Tammy| 1.23.10 @ 4:04PM

We don't need a third party, we just have to strengthen our own party.

Conservatism wins.

Margie| 1.23.10 @ 5:59PM

There ya go!

ALERT: Even though most of you bloggers are probably already aware of this, I've just read elsewhere an eidtorial [in the American Thinker] concerning the US Department of Justice establishing a group of government paid [anomonous] bloggers that write [comment] favorable opinions at various media 'comment sections' concerning the current administration's policies/programs,etc. So be very suspicious of any/all such bloggers appearing here at the AS that may be US Department of Justice employees disguised as ordinary public citizens!!!!!
