Brown Shattering Dem Unity?

Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski was joined today by three Democrat colleagues -- Arkansas's Blanche Lincoln, Louisiana's Mary Landrieu, and Nebraska's Ben Nelson -- in a move to prevent EPA from regulating greenhouse gas emissions.

Could Massachusetts Sen.-elect (and sound climate science advocate) Scott Brown be wrecking the Democrat agenda across the board? Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski was joined today by three Democrat colleagues -- Arkansas's Blanche Lincoln, Louisiana's Mary Landrieu, and Nebraska's Ben Nelson -- in a move to prevent EPA from regulating greenhouse gas emissions. From the Guardian:

Murkowski's move, brought under the Congressional Review Act, would remove the Obama administration's "Plan B" for dealing with climate change, resorting to the EPA to curb greenhouse gas emissions if Congress fails to act.

The motion of disapproval, called the "nuclear option" by environmentalists, would also ban the administration from drafting any new regulation that would be substantially the same. That would make it even more difficult for any US government to regulate power plants and other big emitters.

Environmentalists say the proposal is unlikely to pass, but ensuring its defeat could require a new round of partisan warfare that could be damaging for Democrats and Obama's agenda.

Why, oh why, would these three Dems do such a thing? Politico sez:

Lincoln, a politically vulnerable senator who comes from a manufacturing state that leans Republican, warned that “heavy-handed EPA regulation, as well as the current cap and trade bills in Congress, will cost us jobs and put us at an even greater competitive disadvantage to China, India and others.”

Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.) is also working with Murkowski on proposals to stop the EPA from regulating greenhouse gases under the Clean Air Act.

The Democrats are bucking Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), who has criticized the Murkowski proposal.

Amazing the new pals the GOP is making, and the greens are apoplectic...

Hey Paul, thanks.

I really enjoyed the video...and I hope everyone listens to the very end...where Garth adds a verse...heh.
I hope and pray earnestly that Mr. Brown represents one of them there "harbingers" of sanity coming back to this country.

Goodness knows we have had our noses rubbed in the sludge caused by our inattention to what these communists, (pardon the shorthand), have been up to.
Thanks again.

Scurrying about to save their own arses...this is a good and healthy sign...what I was hoping for.

Yet it was the greens and dems who advocated corn production be turned to ethanol. Just as the greens and dems abandoned their feigned concern for rain forests and the ozone layer when it comes to Brazil cutting down rainforests to plant palm for biofuel, despite the fact that sugar cane creates a more efficient biofuel, and doesn't require deforestation. They are hypocrites and frauds, each and every one. They've lied to us for decades, including about what foods are healthy and which ones are not.

He's just another mortal, slimebag politician. I give him 6 months of this hot spotlight celebrity and he'll have affairs, lies, and deceit just like the rest of them. Dem or Rep doesn't matter. Our Congress IS the problem. As a body, it no longer functions as designed. So sad how so many people flock to these things like moths to a light. The media loves you.

News flash, Tom. They're all mortal.

We just exercised the franchise. That's how it works. If you don't like Constitutional government: move. The rest of us *do*.
