If the Minnesota Vikings win today, they may become the most dangerous team in the playoffs.  Brett Favre wears down over the course of a season, but he looks awfully good after the recent break.  Should the Vikes emerge from the NFC championship and then have another long lay-off before the Super Bowl, the combination of Favre/Peterson on offense and that aggressive defensive line will be tough to beat.  Even for the Colts.

If Dallas loses, I'm pulling for the Chargers.

Oh ya Vikes!!! America's Team has fallen!! And Jerry Jones is pissed!!!! Couldn't happen to a nicer guy but I feel bad for Wade Phillips.....

danny| 1.17.10 @ 7:27PM

Lullaby's, Legends and Lies| 1.17.10 @ 7:30PM

Chargers: Always a Bridesmaid, never a Bride!!

Jets 17---Chargers 7

Only 5 minutes left, the Chargers are going down just like Coakley will on Tuesday.

Go Jets!! Go Brown!!

danny| 1.17.10 @ 7:31PM

maddmedic, don't feel sorry for wade. anybody that doesn't have the good sense to stay as far away from jerry jones deserves what he gets. this botoxed clown has been a disaster for americas team from day one. somewhere jimmy johnson is lhao.

danny| 1.17.10 @ 7:34PM

remember, any one of 500 coaches in america can get to the super bowl with jerrys team. yeah right.

danny| 1.17.10 @ 7:48PM

switzer made it there, but it was with johnsons team. i could have coached those guys to the big one myself and i don't know a damned thing about coaching. too bad we can't fire owners like we can coaches and players. oh well, bet all this doesn't matter a lot to the people of haiti. lets all keep them in our prayers.

(No Dog in Hunt Warning here...)

Question one: Which of the two playoff losing coaches goes first? Wade or Norv

And if one or both aren't canned before February is it because there is no 0ne else left to fill in? (The official NFL Club Coach is getting rather small).

The second big question is what does the Super Bowl look like this year? Saints vs Colts most likely - which could be a massive shootout bordering on the Arizona - Green Bay fiasco last week.

Saints - Jets ( the Bayou Boys vs the Jersey Boys...) The commercial undercurrents for that combo would be amazing...

Vikings vs anybody... [insert chirpping crickets and slamming screen doors, here...]

Has anyone noticed that all four teams in this championship series are now DOME teams? eeeiuw.... might as well have an arena team or two up there.

Oh well my season is over. Steelers are chilling and waiting to figure out how to glue together an offensive line that is less offensive to the nose... and a defensive secondary that sans the Flyin' Samoan can actually stop a passing attack run by Charlie Brown and staffed by the "Peanuts" gang.

And of course my favorite homer NFC team is waiting for Sha-na-na-han to fail, since the coaches aren't the problem with the 'Skins.

Yeah, no one is interested in watching Favre or Peterson. Has anyone even heard of those guys?

frankie| 1.18.10 @ 10:21AM

I really like the sky mural and weather effects they have in the Jets Dome. Sometimes they throw in some snow too, just so the fans can rowdy it up a bit.

John - TMF| 1.18.10 @ 11:52AM

Yupp... yupp... you're right... but don't forgot about the pollution cloud that hovers over the environs of East Rutherford. The pall of Elizabeth has a protective effect if one's oxygen tank is topped off... (says ducking while wife - who's from northern Joizy starts to wind up to throw something...)

3/4 ain't too bad for those of us sitting on the sideline looking at no reason for chili and good beer on Super Bowl Sunday.

Who knows? The odds guys are giving the Jets just a hair over a TD... and in the breathable air of Lucas Oil Stadium they might have a shot at it.

Rex Ryan understands that to beat Payton Manning, you gotta get him some happy feet... and a serious case of the flinchies... because there is always someone in his face.

It all is still pretty Meh... Next Season.. there is always next season. Well maybe not 2011... but that is another story isn't it.

Strange weekend. The Colts won because of thier small, quick, hard hitting defense. Yes, Peyton was Peyton. But, I wonder if they can't go deep (or even medium for that matter). The Jets won likewise because of thier defense. Sanchez only completed 12 passes, but thier O-Line wore the Chargers D down.

The Saints and Vikings remind me of those old AFC teams of yore that lived and died on the pass. Favre is like the old Dan Fouts of the 1970s, and Brees could be the 2nd coming of Johnny Unitas, Ken Anderson, or Joe Nemeth.

Viks vs Colts is my prediction.

Mike M| 1.18.10 @ 10:16AM

I would have rooted for Minnesota against the Saints...Until they ran up the score when the game was already over.
Saints in the Super Bowl-who wooda thunk?

Oldefarte| 1.18.10 @ 10:45AM

Vikes are GOOD...... but the SAINTS are better! What Romo went through from the crowd noise is nothing to compare to what Farve will face this weekend. GEAUX SAINTS!!!!

Pete| 1.18.10 @ 11:04AM

What a travesty that the Jets are in the AFC Championship. I knew it could happen, based on the fact that the Chargers can't stop the run (if the Steelers run on you, you know you are bad v. the run). But honestly, all they had to do was not shoot themselves in the foot, get a 2 score lead and sit back and watch Sanchez implode trying to throw the ball. The Chargers have had the talent to go all the way for some time, but sadly, their front office fails to realize just how limiting Norv Turner is as a coach. Perhaps this will be the last straw. I really could care less now who wins it all, but my guess is that it will be Colts-Vikings, if the Vikings D shows up again and the Colts get an early 2 score lead.

MattSwartz| 1.18.10 @ 11:09PM

The Vikes have the stars and the stories, but they have zero chance of winning out.

Their O-Line is weak and will be exposed as such.
