Be Careful What You Wish For

Big labor wanted the Democrats to win Congress and the White House.  Now those winning Dems are planning on taxing the health care plans won by those unions for their members.  Oops!

Reports the New York Times:

Having failed to persuade President Obama to scrap a proposed tax on high-cost health insurance policies, labor leaders took their case Tuesday to Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and they said they received a more favorable response.

It has to be tough.  You campaign your heart out. You donate gobs of money.  You tell the world that the Dems are the workers' friends.   And then the Dems proceed to screw you.

Almost makes you feel sorry for Big Labor.  Almost.

No sympathy from me. I've been involved in labor for a few years and what I've learned from the inside disgusts me.
Unions are about raw, unrestrained power. They operate on Marxist principles with no regard for right and wrong.
Most members are communists or at least socialists, though you'd probably have a fight on your hands if you called them that. They're willfully blind and ignorant, hyper partisan, bigoted, closed minded, greedy and completely hostile to business.
The a**holes deserve whatever screwing they get.

The Union guys shouldn't worry--there will be a big "carveout" exemption for them when the "reconciled" bill comes out of the congressional "black hole" soon.
***
It will only be the non politically connected people who will pay these taxes. See how the GM and Chrysler unions got their "carveouts" for more information on how this works.

I'm reminded [by both parties] of the old joke/saying about, WE KNOW WHAT YOUR ARE, WE JUST HAVEN'T FIGURED OUT WHAT PRICE YOU CHARGE!!!!!
