Try Honesty, Mr. Steele

Reid Wilson at the Hotline has been doing a great job in recent weeks covering conservative and Republican items of interest. Today, he notes that Michael Steele  now seems to have been caught in a lie, in addition to all the other examples of him eating his own feet. He claimed his wrote his current book before he was chairman, but Wilson shows why this can’t be so. And lest anyone think this isn’t important, I note that lies/mistakes abot timelines were absolutely key to absolving the great Clarence Thomas of the accusations against him, as only the close attention of lawyer Janet Napolitano kept one Judge Susan Hoerchner from outright perjury during the Thomas hearings — specifically because Hoerchner claimed Anita Hill complained to her about Thomas’ supposed harassment BEFORE Hill even worked for Thomas.

With the stakes much lower, this is the same kind of thing that Steele has done. What’s the point? Why so defensive? Why not stop inventing excuses, and just tell it straight?

Steele is an amiable dunce, at best.

InexperiencedChicagoPunk| 1.9.10 @ 12:44AM

Hilarious.... That Inexperienced Chicago Punk Excuse-for-a-president appeared 8 TIMES on video at various times telling us how TRANSPARENT his administration would be, and now HIDES BEHIND GIBBS while the HEALTHCARE-DEMOCRATS-ONLY-MEETING is conducted behind closed doors & not available to HUMANS NOR CAMERAS....

Dixie Pixie| 1.9.10 @ 10:36AM

Are you suggesting that Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Obama are SKYNET drones sent back in time to terminate the human race through lethal Obama-Care????

HHHHHHHHHHMMMMMMMMMMM

It is a theory that fits the facts.

GOP 2010 campaign could do worse than to come up with a slogan comparable to Mrs. Thatcher's 1979 ad by Saatchi & Saatchi, "Labour Isn't Working", with a picture of a long dole queue in the background.

He is not a dunce . He is incompetent and riding the gravy train to enrich himself. Another great example of the affirmative action results. As long as he heads the RNC I will not send a penny. I am sending to individual groups or races.

...And yet, Steele continues to get p.r. time while guest hosting radio shows like Bill Bennett's and last night, got one hour as a guest on Jim Bohannan's overnight gig.

Suggestion? Beyond repeating his toll free hotline number (over and over and over) Bohannan might do a bit more homework before allowing people like Steele nearly 50 question free minutes to pitch his book. (Psst, Jimmy ... try asking a HARD question occasionally)

And Bennett? Your energy level on that radio show is so low, it's hard to tell if you just woke up from a nap or are in permanate ... mumble mode.

Either way, my suggestion is to give it up, Bill. You're putting us all to sleep.

Republicans EAT their young. Michael Steele is one of the best. Try supporting him, and its posssible we might be successful in November.
Obama has the new UNIVERSAL VOTING LAW.
All illigal aliens, felons, homeless will be allowed to vote.
These democrats will not go down easily.

SIR ROCK| 1.9.10 @ 12:44PM

I cannot imagine a worse representative for the Republican Party than Steele. He is a man of limited intelligence and vision. I as well will not contribute to the Republican Party as long as he is at the helm.

Richard Baker| 1.9.10 @ 1:17PM

SIR ROCK:
Agreed. He and the Party aren't worth the support. Supporting individual candidates directly may be the way out of the political wilderness and return the government to sanity.

Oldefarte| 1.9.10 @ 2:29PM

I think that nitpicking Steele is destructive and non-productive, since he was elected chairman of the RNC and is what he is. He's been critisized previously for his lack of dedication to the fund raising part of his job, and I'd agree that, if true, he needs to re-dedicate himself to that part of his job; but, under his watch, NJ and Va. elected Republicans. Conservatives need to be entirely focused upon electing committed and pledged true conservatives [be they Republican or Democrat (if there is such a thing)], and quit worrying about all these picyune other issues!!!!

Richard Baker| 1.9.10 @ 5:24PM

Oldefarte:
I suspect that Virginia and New Jersey had less to do with the RNC and more to do with Conservatives and Independents tired of the rush to tyranny. Mr. Steele has made comments and taken actions, such as in NY-23, that make his committment to anything questionable. Now he is saying that he didn't want the job when he campaigned hard for the position. Does he think we're stupid?

Oldefarte| 1.10.10 @ 11:34AM

Richard, You're right, of course, but I just think that his positives outweigh his negatives. He's an African-American that heads the party, which could provide incentives for intelligent, self supporting, professional blacks [and others as well] to possibly abandon the DP and come over to the RP. The DP has the chosen one shucking and jiving [brainwashing] them into the slave mechanisms of the DP; and Steele can create doubt in their minds about the DP. Also, if the RP dumps/fires Steele, then the Democrats are going to bring out the race card in droves!!!!

Interloper| 1.10.10 @ 2:31AM

Well, the RNC could replace Steele with segregationist, Katon Dawson who has reportedly EXPANDED his membership in all-white organizations.

Guys, let me repeat myself, the RP is going down a road on this Steele issue which will backfire on them big time. So what if he makes outside income from a book. Throw him overboard, and these Chicago terrorists/thugs in DC will destroy you over same from the RACISM bombs. Back off, and concentrate on the target-----the liberalism of the Democrats!!!!
