Crist-Rubio Profile

If you are interested in the Rubio/Crist primary race in Florida, and would like to read a long, tendentious article on the subject written by a reporter who can't quite conceal his outright hatred for anyone who would go to a "tea party," you should check out this NYT Magazine article by Mark Leibovich.

"BigTent" should not mean "DemocratLite" and that's the problem when you talk about "Moderate Republicans" or RINO's . The Republican Party once meant the Conservative Party and there's lots of room in the Conservative "BigTent". The only price of admission is adherence to a few basic core values that cannot (or at least should not )be compromised ... fiscal responsibility - a safety net does not mean "cradle to grave" nannyism ... social responsibility - what YOU DO has consequences that YOU have to live with, because charity is the responsibility of churches and charitable individuals, not government. If we get the government out of the charity/nanny business, conservative individuals will gladly care for those who are truly needy via their churches and charities
