I just got my January 2010 issue of Gentlemen’s
Quarterly, a magazine I do not pay for, but for some reason
receive. There is a big, splashy article on the tea party
movement. About four months late, the meme is …
wait for it …
the tea partiers are racists.
Yeah.
The inferential power on display is an awesome thing to behold.
Let’s just go through this one more time.
Would there be such a thing as the tea party movement, led by
conservatives, if an African-American man with the public policy
views of, say, Thomas Sowell were in the White House?
No?
Then, shut up.
(And I almost feel bad for saying that because I tell my kids all
the time they should never say it, but this is just a completely
righteous exception.)

It's worse than that. The GQ article is still spreading the false rumor that the KY census worker was murdered by tea partiers when, in fact, he committed suicide.

Answer to your question: Very Dumb, throw out that rag.

I thought it was going to be another man-crush cover story on The One, and who picks out The Cover Boy In Chiefs' socks, him or The Lady M, and how wackiness ensues when he comes out wearing the wrong belt with the wrong shoes. Call David Brooks, the big guy's trousers need pressing!

I have subscribed to GQ on and off for 25 years. I buy it for the fashion and gadget articles (on), and then they publish an article like this one (off). I read it and the author just would not let the facts get in the way of his conclusion.
It looks like my relationship with GQ is going back to the off position.

The more I read about people who love The One, the more it resembles the tale of The Emperor's New Clothes.

Would there be Tea Parties with President Sowell? Yes...by leftists white and black calling the President an Uncle Tom, House Negro, etc., all, of course, without being 'racist'...

To all whom where blinders: The Tea Party Movement is not about hatred for President Obama or because he is African American. It is about the distain for our government Republican and Democrats alike. For some time now the Left and Right have served someone other than the people (Special interest.) It’s time that the “Good Ole Boys Club” find a new way to make a living. It’s time for term limits. It’s time for them to legislate and not to rule like our ancestors from across the pond. We all want Healthcare reform and it stands correct to call the Republicans out on the carpet for not doing anything about up till now, block all ideas from the left. The Democrats are trying to rule, seize power of control and ignore how unpopular their healthcare bill is to the people. We need Healthcare reform; we need a bill that makes economical aw well as a little bit of common sense. The Government can’t even run the Post Office in the black (3 Billon in the red) and yet there are those that think our Government is going to handle (Government Run Healthcare) a more complex entity more efficiently, forgive me if I lack faith!!!
Dale Robertson is an idiot and is not representing the majority in this movement. He might have started a good idea, but he is not representative of the majority, so please stop painting with a broad brush!!!
