According to Rasmussen Reports:
Fifty-three percent (53%) of voters favor a ban on abortion
coverage in any health insurance plan that receives federal
subsidies. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey
finds that 40% are opposed to such a ban in the proposed health
care legislation now before Congress.
Those figures include 39% who Strongly Favor it and 26% who are
Strongly Opposed.
There are some provisions in the health care plan before
Congress that are more popular and some that are less popular
but none as controversial. The reason for the controversy is
that attitudes on the provision cut across the lines of support
and opposition for the overall bill.

Sometime in the early to mid 70's, abortion became the definer of orthodoxy in the Democratic party. Change, however unpopular, must be imposed from the top down in their minds. An ignorant and superstitious populance needs to be steered by a cultural elite to reach the promised Utopia.

I believe we must institute a law to prevent abortions. This is crucial to help those who are poor and uneducated .I'm 43 and a product poverty and a one night stand. I firmly believed the abortion was not considered because of the cost . Therefore, I'm convinced if the Government subsidize abortions we would take the lives of many innocent children. If the parent does not value life, maybe her inability to get the funding may save a life.
