The Senate just voted 60 to 39 to cut off debate on the Senate health care bill, setting up a final vote for tomorrow morning at 7 a.m.

Leading up to the vote, Democrats defeated a number of Republican points of order challenging the constitutionality of elements of the health care bill such as the individual mandate as well as the "unfunded mandate" to the states in the form of expanding Medicaid by 15 million people. Sen. Jim DeMint also attempted to add an amendment that would have changed Senate rules to bar the practice of trading votes for earmarks, but it was tabled by a 53 to 46 vote.

Once the bill clears the Senate tomorrow, it will have to be reconciled with the House bill and then pass both chambers once again.

Not to change the subject, but someone should note the fact that the media is gushing about how the Obama's will be spending Christmas in a $4000 a night mansion in Hawaii, while over 10% of the rest of us are unemployed, the economy is in the toilet, small businesses are going under, homeowners are being foreclosed on, the dollar is tanking, and deficits are through the roof.

Can you imagine if a Republican president were presiding over this mess and went to Hawaii for the holidays to stay in a mansion?

The country does not want this huge restructuring of the health care system with the inept, incompetent and inefficent big government in charge and yet these Radicals in Congress insist on seizing power over every aspect of our lives anyway. These legislation is illegitimate as it is not being established with the consent of the governed.

When do Americans say enough if enough and rise up and throw off this tyranny and abolish this government of lies and special favors for the connected.

An excerpt taken from today's newsletter issued by Senator LeMieux (R-FL): " ..... typical Washington response to our nation's problems: grow government and spend more money.
The latest version of the Senate bill does just that while leaving 23 million of America's uninsured without insurance. The bill increases taxes by $518 billion, cuts Medicare by $470 billion, and imposes an unfunded mandate on Florida's Medicaid system resulting in $3.5 billion in additional state spending on Medicaid."

The Senate bill will actually reduce medical care for senior citizens - those most likely to need it - while at the same time curbing economic growth and causing higher unemployment due to huge new taxes. The States should reject the new Medicaid burdens, if enacted, as going beyond the power of Congress. And forcing Americans to buy medical insurance is unconstitutional. If we allow Congress to do this, then it can dictate that we do virtually anything or else be fined and/or imprisoned. What's next ---- will Congress dictate that we all take a certain drug monthly? How about requiring that everyone take a certain dosage of vitamins, and be subjected to quarterly tests by the government? The possibilities are endless.

I wonder how the two jackpot winners (Nelson and Landrieu) both voted on the DeMint ammendment...

Surely, there must be somebody on the democrats side to be able to say 'Stop' with this nonsense?? anybody?? the republicans don't have the votes.
While I'm here, I would also recommend to think about Obummer rescinding Reagans treaty, silently sign a new treaty giving Interpol authority over America's laws, please read McCarthty on the corner, or Folpping aces...it's abominable, what's going on.
I live here (wife of a lifetime soldier), for more than 25 yrs, and have never seen anything like it. What wrong with the american people, are those hating this country outnumber the love of this country?? I made this country my home, and love it's people, and laws, and yet, here along comes the un-american president, and his co-horts, and destroying little by little.
I can't vote, but I beg all of you, and those who love this country-the only free country in the world, and save it before it's completelt destroyed!!!
Love, Inge
