Moments ago Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid introduced his 38 "manager's amendment" -- reflecting final negotiated changes in the health care bill, and Republicans are now forcing it to be read on the Senate floor.

Before, the reading comenced, Reid asked for Sen. Ben Nelson to be granted nine minutes to make a floor statement, but Republicans denied the request.

We should know more shortly, but one would have to assume at this point that it would be unlikely that Reid would introduce the amendment if he hadn't secured 60 votes.

You can read the amendment for yourself here.

How in the heck could anyone vote on this before Christmas. You must have the 2000 page bill alongside the reid ammendment so that you know what is in and what is out. What BS! Why are we still rushing to pass this? The is a scam plain and simple. The want to start collecting the money now but do nothing with it until after 2014. They're hoping to be long gone from washington before the people realize what they have done. It won't work. We know what they are up to now.

Ben Nelson has missed one of the rare opportunity in politics, to have his name remembered for the proper reason! Now, he will go down in politics as just another political flunky! No one will remember him for anything of value, however they will remember him come his next election rotation.
I hope he has a second career because his political career is finished!
Anyone, who votes for those who bring this abomination down upon Americans deserve the care they are NOT going to get!

This bill will end up being repealed and so watered down that the dems will regret sacrificing their majorities for nothing. Don't know what they are thinking.

Now I have to decide how many people I am going to have to lay off to pay for the increased costs of healthcare and the taxes that are surely to come. Nice jobs dems, i'll let the people I let go know who to call to complain to.

Agree wit Bill from WV - Reid is done. Now his politician career is complete and nobody will remember him or say some. He passed his time. He could make some changes but... And sadly, he won`t resume his authority. For me - sure.

What really amazes me is that these politicians dont care how the American peeople feel about healthcare. I think if the people dont want this they should drop the subject. Thats what they are elected for! To do what the people want.
