First Read gives an advance look at a new NBC/WSJ poll due to be released tonight:

As the Senate sprints to pass a health-care bill by Christmas, the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll finds that those believing President Obama's health-reform plan is a good idea has sunk to its lowest level.

Just 32 percent say it's a good idea, versus 47 percent who say it's a bad idea.

In addition, for the first time in the survey, a plurality prefers the status quo to reform. By a 44-41 percent margin, respondents say it would be better to keep the current system than to pass Obama's health plan.

By comparison, in September's and October's NBC/Journal polls, the American public preferred changing the system to the status quo, 45 to 39 percent.

If these figures are correct and indeed the support for Obama Care has been going down, it appears we have aliens running our nation. The have an internal script with a internal chip. They cannot deviate. The point is there is no way no how anything like bipartisanship can possibly be considered. Except for those in the Repu8blican Party who might also have a built in script and chip. The words spoken the more clear that Democrats are lying not only about healthcare but just about everything related to their legislation. People see this and this explains the downward movement in support and including for Obama as well.

Sorry Nick, but Obama and his crew don't care what principles they have to sacrifice or how many seats they are likely to lose. The objective is to grab one sixth of the economy for government. Once that's done, everything else will fall into place.

They'll do the same thing with Cap and Trade.
