When I titled Friday's article "Tea Party Nation," I thought I was being cleverly creative. It turns out, however, that this very phrase has already been appropriated for the first-ever national Tea Party convention, Feb. 4-6 in Nashville.

If the Tea Party movement allows itself to be co-opted by movement conservative GOP centric types then it will lose its utility. It must be more Ron Paul than Sarah Palin. More Campaign for Liberty than Freedom Works. This convention might be a good way to judge where it is headed, although a convention seems counter the Tea Party spirit to begin with.

Oh yes, Brilliant idea. RonPaul can hire Alex Jones as his communications director, and Stormfront nazis can go door to door handing out flyers.

After all, RonPaul has so much more personal appeal than that neocon Palin ever could have.

Great idea.
