In a watershed moment in health care polling, Gallup has found
that by a narrow 50 percent to 47 percent margin, more Americans
now think that providing health care coverage should not be a
responsibility of the federal government. The pollster notes
that, "This is a first since Gallup began tracking this question,
and a significant shift from as recently as three years ago, when
two-thirds said ensuring healthcare coverage was the government's
responsibility."

full trend since Gallup began asking the question in 2001.
