Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is considering a payroll tax hike on those earning more than $250,000 to pay for health care legislation, the Hill reports. The idea of raising taxes during a recession and double-digit unemployment is insane, of course. But it also raises another question -- if health care legislation is going to save us so much money, then why do Democrats have to raise taxes to pay for it?

Harry Reid can't find where the constitution says congress can mandate the purchase of a product or service but I sure as hell bet he can recite where it allows congress to levy taxes.

The best way to force people to buy is to just take the money right off the top.
White House appointees who cheat on their taxes pointed this out, undoubtedly.

Reid,Obama,Pelosi--Stalin,Vorashilov,Molotov,--
what ist he difference ? They do mnot care what the American people want or think. The real question is this: If there is voter fraud or worse what will the people do ?

As usual, their solution is to hit the populace with more or higher taxes.

2010 can't come soon enough; every single Democrat and every single RINO in Congress need to be booted.

I'm sure that the 250K limit will be indexed to inflation. Won't it? Hello? Mr. President?

Have a great idea. Instead of raising payroll taxes on those making $250,000 (which is not considered wealthy in California, let's take back the 3 % raise for Congress and raises for their staff members. Let's put Congress to work at least 5 days a week ( like the middle class people that we are), After all, what company would give a raise for such poor, poor performance ratings of Congress?
