"Only Dictators...

...are afraid of rock."

A small tribute to an oft-overlooked aspect of the long fight to free the peoples and minds of Eastern Europe on this, the anniversary week of the fall of the Berlin Wall.

A rock combo actually recorded an album a dozen or more years ago titled, 'Somebody Loves You, Boris Yeltsin'.
Or perhaps it was the band's name.

It was 'Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin'.

If "only dictators are afraid of rock" why do so many rock performers (like Carlos Santana and "Rage Against the Machine") cozy up to dictators like Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez and promote totalitarian, collectivist philosophies like Marxism-Maoism?

Off-topic: talking about so-called "classic rock" is, in my opinion, like citing vintage years of RC Cola. Most of the stuff that I listened to in my youth has aged about as well as milk in a busted 'fridge during a hot summer week.
