A friend stationed at Fort Hood posted the following on Facebook last night:
found it hard to sleep last night. Fort Hood is a special place to me, sort of a bastion against the trials of Iraq and such. So it's just hard to accept Soldiers being killed right here at home. It's shocking.

Tragedy aside, horrible as it is, sad as it is, scary as it is:
Maybe if all those gay Arabic translators weren't tossed out of the military someone would have spotted the nuts among us. Just a thought. Apparently all those volunteering American-loving gay Americans are worse for the military than a straight man named Nidal I-want-to-kill-Americans Hasan -- again, just a thought. Unit cohesion indeed.
(No need to go rampant on it.)
