Lindsey Graham is not content merely with being the single worst
Republican senator. He wants to win the title by a HUGE margin.
And he
does. "To those people who are pursuing purity," says our
Lickspittle-in-Chief, "you’ll become a club not a party." Well,
sir, where, oh where, ANYwhere, did anybody prominent demand
absolute ideological "purity"? There he goes again, parroting the
unwarranted, unfair, and untrue descriptions of conservatives
made by the lefty establishment media. What an insufferably
pompous, shallow, suck-up.
Lindsey Graham knows how to get on the network talking heads
shows. When you speak out against Republicans you are very
popular with the Liberal Media. John McCain road this wagon until
he got the Republican nomination for President. Then he was
thrown off the Wagon. We can have a "Big Tent" and still hold to
the principals of Conservative Republicans. It is time to rid the
Party of RINO's.

Very true. There are, of course, voices on the right and left
that will always argue for purity. Fine by me. Quin is quite
right that you don't hear any prominent voices saying this, and
in fact, they often make a point to say quite the opposite. Seems
like a case of people saying "purity" enough times, and the media
then making it another lazy assumption ...

The likes of Lindsey (and Frum and Moran, et al) are doing more
to turn the Party into a "club" than anyone else on the scene.
SCPOret| 11.5.09 @ 12:19PM
I'd rater be in the club than go to his party
Oldefarte| 11.5.09 @ 12:40PM
The Republican Party has historically been left-of-center bent
[aka Lincoln, Rockefeller, etc], until moderate Nixon and then
conservative Reagon won. The sad and amazing thing about Graham
is that he represents Southern/conservative South Carolina. I'll
say again for the 1000th time----just as with the known losing
cause of running Doug Hoffman in NY23, if the party stands on
principle and looses, that is preferable to winning in a
politically correct fashion. Conservatives should back and vote
for any/all conservative candidates [Republican or Democrat] in
2010+ [and against any incumbent that has played political
'footsie' with Obama/Democrats] concerning their socialist
agenda!!!!!
Margie| 11.6.09 @ 6:49PM
I have never seen a conservative Democrat. So, fat chance. That
ain't happening.
Vote Republican unless you want a Socialist to get elected. Or
re-elected.
It's just reality.
Oldefarte| 11.7.09 @ 1:02PM
Zell Miller of Georgia come to mind? There are plenty of
conservatives Democrats [mainly from Southern states] and they're
called Blue Dogs. Their problem is that liberals such as Pilosi,
Reid, Schumer, etc control their naional party and these BD's are
caught between a rock [their national leaders] and a hard place
[their hometown conservative constituents]. The Republican Party
is approaching the same delimina, with their leaders such as
Graham, McCain, Steele etc all brainwashing them into becoming
Democrat-lites. Conservatives have to ignore the party labels and
vote strictly for any/all conservative candidates who swear to
represent their hometwon constituents' wishes and not those of
their national leadership-----REGARDLESS OF PARTY LABEL!!!!

Amen!
I still think everyone here goes to the link here.
Let's use Alinskie's strategy right back in their faces. http://www.nea.org/tools/17231.htm

NY-23 was the result of the "good old boys" nominating someone
with name recognition & a history of getting elected to the
State Assembly - "issues" could not possibly have been on the
list b/c Dede's politics would put her smack dab in the middle of
the House Democrat caucus.
Lindsey seems to think the Republican "Big Tent" has to be roomy
enough that a standard, down-the-line Democrat is comfortable
with the Party's stand on issues.
"Card Check? We take it or leave it."
"Liberal or Conservatives on the Courts? Who cares?"
"American or UN sovereignty? What difference does it make?"
"Raise taxes? Like it matters to me."
Adam Smith| 11.5.09 @ 1:32PM
The GOP "leadership" needs to come out publicly and denounce
Graham for this. He works consistently against the interests of
his own constituents, the citizenry as a whole and against what
are supposed to be core GOP values and principles.
This preening, empty headed peacock and his race baiting of his
own base absolutely have to go.
Lindsey 'Scuzzy" Graham is not a leader. He is a wannabe
celebrity in the model of Newt Gingrich.
I would encourage Sen Graham to take a look at Climate Audit:
The gov. funded study that the vast majority of Global Warming
opinions have used this piece of fraud as primary support. Look
at the Yamal studies & the Briffa response pieces.
To boil it down for the non technical types:
The data was cherry picked with a desired outcome predetermined,
with samples so small (about 11 core samples) and so manicured,
as to make the entire "scientific study" a complete joke.
If Graham was really interested in this topic he would have
reshearched it before taking us down this road.
So, he is either willfully ignorant of the facts OR he is a
corrupt politician in this soley for the sake of political deal
making.
His actions and words clearly show he is in the latter catergory
and he resorts to the same pathetic defenses as a liberal
Democrat when questioned. His defense is no different than
listening to Robert Gibbs's misdirection at every press briefing
whenever a real question is asked that he does not want to
answer.
It would not take too much imagination to see him leaving the GOP
to become one of Obama's Czars. He would be perfect and already
has the M.O. down pat.
If any fellow Republicans, real Republicans have any guts they
will speak some truth to this silly man when they are all
enjoying the big 24/7 party in DC.
On a related note:
Michelle Bachman seems to have a bigger set than all the rest of
the GOP leadership combined. Maybe it's time for Boehner to step
aside for the good of party and country.
She is also a lot easier on the eyes that the ever-tan Ken doll,
and 10x the lucid, cogent speaker.
