He's succeeded in the almost impossible task of making
incompetent, unprincipled Republican politicians more popular
than their Democratic counterparts.
For the first time in recent years, voters trust Republicans
more than Democrats on all 10 key electoral issues regularly
tracked by Rasmussen Reports. The GOP holds double-digit
advantages on five of them.
Republicans have nearly doubled their lead over Democrats on
economic issues to 49% to 35%, after leading by eight points in
September.
The GOP also holds a 54% to 31% advantage on national security
issues and a 50% to 31% lead on the handling of the war in
Iraq.
And that's just after nine months. Give the president a
couple of years and see what happens!
Don't worry. I'm sure that Republicans are incompetent and
unprincipled enough to turn these numbers around!

Throw the bums out -- Republocrats and Demopublicans -- the whole
lot of them.
Not a one currently in office is worthy of the position. Go get
the first 12 people from every statewide phone book (about 535
folks) -- and then put them into office, and that would be
better.

OMG, President Obama should be able to turn water to wine if he
can make people think this Republican party can be an
improvement.
We need a Freedom Party. Libertarian? Constitution?
Conservative?
I'd take Whig at this point.
A Libertarian Party already exists; has existed for 35 years +.
But conservatives are too stubborn to support Libertarian
candidates, even amazingly, when there's no Republican on the
ballot. (Durham, NC for example has a Mayoral run-off in Nov.
with only a Libertarian challenging a Democrat.)
Though, ironically, conservatives are all enthusiastic about
supporting Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman.

The 2010 and beyond GOP imperative primaries is to rind the RINOs
from their democrat-lite 'skin'.

Eric:
Supporting the Libertarians is difficult for Conservatives
because of your disconnect with the foundational requirement for
morality, as espoused by the Founding Fathers. Just saying you go
your way and I'll go mine leads to the same moral anarchy seen in
Detroit.
“We have no government armed with power capable of contending
with human passions unbridled by morality and religion.Avarice,
ambition, revenge, or gallantry, would break the strongest cords
of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our
Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It
is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” John Adams

...KNOW a GOP Speaker will enter the House in 2011, and he, or
she, will grease the way for Obama's re-election.
Then the Speaker will fizzle into history.
