The Spectacle Blog

An incredible host of conservative bloggers, ranging from Mark Tapscott at The Examiner, who is a member of the Freedom of Information Act Hall of Fame, to me and Brian Faughnan at respective blogs at the Washington Times, to the directors of Red State, to Breitbart's blog, to several at Red County, to a particularly well-researched one by Jim Geraghty at The Campaign Spot at NRO, .... and the list goes on and on and on; I wish I could post every last link... has stepped forward in solidarity with John McCormack of the Weekly Standard to demand that New York congressional candidate Dede Scozzafava withdraw from her race because of her campaign's use of the police to try to intimidate McCormack. I report this here at the Spectator not by way of advocacy, but by way of observation that this is a unique example of conservative bloggers working in "viral" ways to push a common theme. Any student of the new media should find this fascinating as a cultural/media phenomenon.

It is amazing how clueless the GOP is. From Newt to Lindsay Gramm to Michael Steele, the GOP has demonstrated they not only do not undestand what has gone on these last several months, but haven't a clue on how to respond to the Democratic mis-steps. No, 2010 is not going to be 1994. The GOP will snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

"No, 2010 is not going to be 1994. The GOP will snatch defeat from the jaws of victory."

And JP that is my fear. I posted this on anther thread but it bears repeating: GOP, what DON'T you get about conservatism in America? It WORKS! Americans WANT it! We DO NOT want warmed-over "moderate" Republicans who are really Democrat-Lite. We want TRUE Conservatives who value freedom, economic liberty, strength, and individualism. You know, the stuff that made our country the greatest on the planet. Why why why do you (the GOP) continue to IGNORE the American People and push these RINOs down our throats?

I mean it seems easy enough, right?

You know, I said this before right after the usurper got inaugurated and got viscerated by folks. I think everything he's done or is doing he is doing on purpose to ruin this great country. He and the Dems HAVE to know that their policies are bankrupting and ruining America. Now, let's use that same logic with Newt and Graham et al. How could they not know that the American people are begging and pleading for true conservative leadership and are tired of RINOs? Did they not see the town hall meetings? Read these blogs? See the video from 9/12 in DC? Do they not see how we embrace Sarah Palin and we reject RINO John McCain?

And yet we get~~~ Scozzafava? Are you KIDDING me? It makes me wonder what kind of back-room deals or collusion is going on between the RNC and the White House. Because they can not NOT know, yet they still do the same thing over and over and over.

What's in it for you Newt, Lindsay, Michael? Tell us, what have you been promised?

grumpygresh| 10.22.09 @ 4:14PM

It seems that the Frum wing of the RNC wants NY 23 to go to Scuzzy or suffer a defeat so that they can blame the conservatives for splitting the vote. A party is a means to an end an not an end in itself.

If we are going to save our country we must vote for folks that are with our effort. Doug is with that effort and can be trusted. Therefore he must be supported or the people will find another vehicle or way to get it done. We are willing to use a conservative Republican Party. If folks are unwilling to listen, the GOP will be even less relevant in the future much to the pain of our nation. GOP please figure out what you stand for and get on board with a people that have principles that will serve you well.

Mark Levin interviewed Doug Hoffman on his radio show recently, and if ever there was a more decent guy to wade into the treacherous waters of national politics, I don't know who it might be.

And because the RNC and their ilk are counting numbers and not weighing principle, NY23 gets this semi-thug, pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage, card check chick as their candidate -- to do what??? For heaven's sake??? Certainly not to uphold the Constitution nor to sound a clarion call for a return to conservativism -- which at this moment in our history are the ONLY factors that MATTER.

Meanwhile, we have instead John Boehner and Eric Cantor -- supposedly right-of-center lawmakers -- DONATING MONEY to Dede's campaign. We have Thaddeus McCotter, whom 'til now I thought was a pretty decent congressman (he certainly came off LOOKING good in his interview with John Robinson over at NRO's Uncommon Knowledge) and even he doesn't seem to get it: liberal Republicans are DEATH to this nation because in essence by their votes they tilt national policy to the LEFT, and we END UP, de facto, WITH A ONE-PARTY STATE.

And don't let me get started on Newt. Pulease!!

Who needs them???? Spit them out.

VOTE FOR HOFFMAN.

Mark Levin just read Sarah Palin's endorsement of Hoffman over the air-waves. He's running in the Conservative party there.

J.C.Eaton| 10.22.09 @ 8:59PM

At what point does one throw up his hands, his lunch and everything else and forsake a political party that has forsaken Conservatives at virtually every turn? Can the GOP really ever be counted on to be a true tribune of our flavor of political philosophy? What will make us say (and mean) we're done with you? Ultimately it will take people like us to take on, in elections from dog catcher to congress, the incumbents that think what's currently in place is just jake. One seat at a time Conservatives must begin to take our Nation back.Just today I was asked to provide a Conservative state senate candidate with a conservative campaign manager...he's gonna get one.

NewsFlash!
Sarah Palin just endorsed HOFFMAN!
Go Sarah 2012
To paraphrase Joan Crawford:
NO MORE SPINELESS RINO'S!

Man, that is one scary looking woman.

higgins1990| 10.23.09 @ 9:01AM

Does the RNC have its collective head ups its arse? Really, how out-of-touch are they? Are they wanting to split the GOP?

Hey RNC - no contributions from me.
