As polls closed on election night, researchers at Duke
University and the University of Michigan had 183 men and women
chew gum and spit into test tubes and analyzed their hormones.
A few hours later, as Barack Obama supporters began
celebrating, they tested hormone levels again, and then later,
at two more intervals.
Men who voted for Obama maintained stable testosterone levels,
while men who voted for McCain saw those levels drop more than
25 percent.
Or maybe Barack Obama depletes the testosterone levels of
conservative young men.
Heh... Thanks, but it's probably not new. It's a riff on
something that Mark Steyn had said about demographics as
destiny... "erections have consequences" or "the penis, mightier
than the sword!" At least, I think that's what Styen
said. Anyway, he's a whole lot funnier and more interesting than
poor Reto, er, Toddard.
Johnno| 10.21.09 @ 7:44PM
Flaccid Toddard--I like it!
Eliza| 10.21.09 @ 7:59PM
The men who voted for McCain were RINOs: Their testosterone
levels are always low.
Margie| 10.21.09 @ 11:11PM
The men who voted for McCain were smart enough to realize that
Obama would be far worse. So how's that Hope n' Change workin'
out for ya all?
Margie| 10.22.09 @ 12:20PM
Having said that, though, I do not give my money to the RNC,
haven't for years, and I do vote for conservative candidates, and
am just as angry as you are. I'm a Reagan conservative. I just
refuse to "stand on principle" as you call it, and let a
Socialist Dem get elected by giving away my vote. That's where we
differ.
SoCon| 10.22.09 @ 3:10PM
You're blind. You didn't stand on principle, you supported a RINO
and you got Obama anyway.
How's your strategy workin' out for you anyway?
For someone who quotes the Bible constantly, you sure don't stand
for much.
Margie| 10.22.09 @ 4:44PM
Sorry, not blind. Have my eyes wide open. You didn't hear what I
said. I don't vote for RINO's. I voted AGAINST Obama for Prez. by
NOT allowing my vote to go for him. You have to face reality. By
not voting for McCain, you let your vote go to Obama. That's just
a fact. And we will get Obama II if you do it again. I'm guessing
by what you're saying here is that's what you're going to do. But
why? Why do you want to allow it again?
As for your judging me, it doesn't stand.
Again~ I didn't "run McCain." In my state Fred Thompson had
pulled out of the race, that's who I would've chosen as the
nominee. I voted for McCain as the nominee because he could
possibly win with Sarah Palin on the ticket. He did become the
nominee for the party, and so I voted for him for President. Did
you see anyone better to vote for? Did you vote for a nominee for
President? If so, who?
Surely a Republican administration would have been alot better
than this Fascist administration. I'm sorry that you feel you
have to vilify me for doing the best thing I could possibly have
done.
SoCon| 10.22.09 @ 5:04PM
I'm not vilifying you, Margie; I'm holding you accountable for
your actions--just like you should hold the RNC accountable for
running RINOs and selling conservatives out.
If we don't stand up and hold the RNC's feet to the fire right
now, we'll never have true conservatives as our nominees. The
time is now!
Look what they're doing to Sarah Palin; they're trying to destroy
her! I'm so angry with the GOP I could spit. I can't speak for
you, Margie, but I will hold the RNC leadership accountable, it's
the only way we'll ever save our country.
God help us and give us strength.
Margie| 10.22.09 @ 5:16PM
I will never let my vote go to a Democrat as long as I have
breath in me.
We could have had at least a Republican administration if we all
voted for McCain.
Fact: If you are planning on throwing your vote away to another
third party candidate, or not voting at all, we will have you all
to thank for Obama II.
SoCon| 10.22.09 @ 5:26PM
We have weak republicans like you to thank for Obama I (and
probably Obama II) because you choose not to stand up for what is
right and as a result encourage the RNC to run RINOs. You put the
STUPID in "The Stupid Party."
Perhaps you should do more than just mouth Biblical
platitudes--try living them.
SoCon| 10.22.09 @ 1:02AM
Margie, when we run RINOs like McCain we get beat. We wouldn't
have this Obama disaster if we'd nominated a real conservative!!
I'm sick and tired of not standing on principle, it doesn't work
anyway. If you don't stand for something, you don't stand for
anything at all.
People will NOT vote Democrat-lite (RINO) when they can have the
real thing.
Margie| 10.22.09 @ 12:15PM
SoCon,
I do stand on principle because my conscience tells me to not let
my vote go to the Democrats every time. Is it better to have the
present admin? We could have had a Republican admin. which I know
and you know would have been better for the country. Do you think
we would have had this dismantling of our entire free market if
we would have all got behind McCain? No way. (You don't have to
answer, as I think I already know your answer.)
SoCon| 10.22.09 @ 3:14PM
WE would have had a republican administration if we'd run a true
conservative. Unthinking republicans like you follow the RNC like
sheep and that's why RINOs are always nominated. You're wrong.
Margie| 10.22.09 @ 4:53PM
If I were unthinking, as you say, I wouldn't have voted at all,
or I would have voted for a no chance to win third party
candidate.
SoCon| 10.22.09 @ 5:18PM
I voted for McCain, too, but unlike you I'm not happy about it.
Talk about throwing your vote away--we both did. Nothing will
change as long as republicans like you let the GOP treat us as
sheeple being led to the slaughter. Strength through Jesus Christ
is our only salvation.
Isaiah 41: "Fear Not, For I am With You."
Margie| 10.22.09 @ 5:22PM
Republicans like me? You are holding me accountable yet you voted
for McCain as well? I'd call that hypocrisy. And you are also
being quite unfair in saying that I was happy about it. I wasn't
happy about it, but LIKE YOU I did the right thing.
~end of conversation!
SoCon| 10.22.09 @ 5:34PM
No hypocrisy here; I never said I didn't vote for McCain--that
was your erroneous assumption; I said I objected to the RNC
running RINOs. You have a problem with reading comprehension.
Go ahead, turn tail and run; weak people always run away when
faced with the truth. Of course you want to end debate because
you know you're wrong.

S.L. Toddard| 10.21.09 @ 5:35PM
"Or maybe Barack Obama depletes the testosterone levels of conservative young men"
That's the only plausible explanation. I doubt many conservatives were that devastated that John McCain didn't get elected.
Si Vis Pacem| 10.21.09 @ 5:53PM
S. L. Toddard is what we get when the the country suffers Electile Dysfunction. There is a cure, of course.
